It was a busy Saturday night, so service was a little backed up. Took a little while to get our order taken but as a past server I understand. Overall the food and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be back!
The service was horrible, I’m 65 y/o grew up in a time of Open Racists never thought I would see this againbut our waitress (RJ) proved me wrong, I always tell my friends if you want good food and service go to NO she proved me wrong again, I felt like I had been violated when I left, and still had to pay her atip
Brian A was rude. He seemed fed up with the day. It was my first time eating at the establishment so of course I had questions. He wasnt super informative. I never got a refill on my tea and I only saw him when he bought the food and the bill. I ordered the Shrimp feast which came with two stuffed shrimp. The stuffed shrimp turned out to be a shrimp ball (deep fried with shrimp inside). The tail of the shrimp was still intact and I almost chocked. Why would something thats not edible be INSIDE this ball? Overall my Expy was terrible and the prices definitely dont reflect the quality of the food.
I had the grilled stuffed catfish with shrimp pasta and it was DELICIOUS !!! I wasnt in love with the oysters but the catfish was perfect!!
I’ve been coming here for years, but has been a little while since last visit.They’ve added in a new patio with outdoor dining. It is great for springtime.But the food, that’s where it’s at. You can usually tell a good place to eat, especially when it is perpetually crowded with locals, and New Orleans Food and Spirits is almost ALWAYS crowded.I’m here today, good Friday, and got here about 2:45pm, and there is STILL a wait.One note, if there is a wait, ask to eat at the bar, still good service and you get your beer faster.Everything I’ve had here is good.There are a lot of things with pasta and cream seafood sauces. They are all good, but I’m trying to eat a little different these days.I love the salads!! I just had the grilled shrimp salad, and as usual, shrimp were perfectly cooked, and PLENTIFUL. Their salads are just as overstuffed as their poboys, maybe more so IMHO.They serve draft beer in the frozen large schooners much like at Liuzzas.I keep coming back here.,,I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ever ordered.I would say my only negatives are, too many folks have discovered the place, always a wait, and when full, the place indoors can be a bit loud.But hey, that’s New Orleans!!I recommend it. Don’t forget there is a parking lot they own behind the place…circle around the block from around the front door…
Went for lunch, I had white beans and porkchops. Food was delicious. Service was good. Atmosphere is good, not a lot of room but it does have outside tables. I would return and recommend. It’s family owned and specializes in Southern Food
