We had dinner with great friends here. It has been many, many years since I have been here. While nothing here is bad at all, I am just not a big fan. The service was not very friendly even after our server spilled a cup of ice water across the table. I could not remember why I have avoided this place for so many years then I recalled when we got our food. The sandwiches here are just that sandwiches. They are not poboys per say because they are served on Italian loaf instead of NOLA french bread. Is this bad? No, just not my preference. Bread aside, you can get a better sandwich from Acme and a much better poboy from Parkway Tavern where I wish we would have gone to begin with.

Took a friend visiting because this was listed as a epic old NOLA fav. We got poboys & beers. Disappointed as they sinned with the bread, it must be awesome, and it wasn’t. I would not put this poboys amongst my top 15. Beer was warm, waitress was uninterested in our experience. Ambiance was barn/fishhouse, but clean. Regulars must like it, not going back.

On February 6, 2017 @ 14.45, my wife & I stopped at R & O ‘s for what was to be the best roast beef sandwich in the Metro new Orleans area. Was that a fallacy. I have eaten many a roast beef sandwich in New Orleans, but by far this has to be the worst. There are a lot better out there.

Went here for a team lunch and absolutely loved the food. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, we had hush puppies and onion rings for appetizers (the hush puppies were amazing), the veal parmesan was nothing short of exceptional, by far the best I’ve had anywhere. I would’ve gave a 5 star rating but the cleanliness of the place is not quite there, so 4.5 for the great food & staff.

I was concerned about some of these negative reviews, but my experience was a very positive one. My group had the following, all of which were very good: tamales, fully dressed roast beef poboy, chicken parm poboy & pizza. R&O’s reputation for a top notch roast beef poboy is well deserved. And I didn’t find service, etc. to be the negative that some other comments suggest.

The staff avoids you, giving you that bartenders look as they walk away.Frozan shrimp, cold crayfish, and a wilted salad, small portions of everything, no room to move, too many tables, over priced and over rated. Just a terrible experience all the way around. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!

First timer here, 4 of us for lunch, had the R&O Special Poboy along with hot tamales app, excellent! Service was prompt, friendly and accurate, a great lunch!
