Restaurant Cypress was excelllent. My wife and I started with the duck egg rolls for an appetizer, which was delicious. I highly suggest the house dressing. I got the eggplant cake and it was by far the best eggplant dish I have ever eaten. Just be careful as its very rich.
Top notch. I chose this restaurant to give my fiance her ring. This jewel of a restaurant was only 5 minutes from my home. Service was exceptional and the food was excellent. There was 2 veal chef specials the night we went. We got one of each. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a great meal and good service at a reasonable price.
Good Food. Been going to Restaurant Cypress for a few years now and the menu you see on their website is current and accurate and it hasn’t changed since I’ve started going there. Small menu, but offers one of everything; beef, veal, chicken, duck, etc. They do have a couple of daily specials but last night all three were seafood which is good for me, not necessarily everyone. I had one of the specials, pan seared sea scallops over orzo with brie cheese sauce. A couple of very thin sprigs of asparagus for garnish, $27.95. The first scallop was full of gritty dirt in every bite. But the others were fine. Flavor was good but wouldnt get it again. Two of us ordered this special and unfortunately this was the same scenario for her. Most menu items are around $20-$27. Entrees come with a dinner salad and a bread basket. Was charged $3 for extra blue cheese dressing for one of the salads which didn’t make me happy. The place is quaint, dim lighting, oil candles on the table (although ours was burned out). Service is adequate, no long waits for drinks or food. Waiter came to the table to check on us immediately after the food arrived and then never returned. Other service kept our water glasses filled and someone else brought the bill. I guess this is the hierarchy since I noticed our waiter had this same pattern at other tables. I’ve seen other comments about the noise level and this is true. Overall it offers good food and service.
Excellent food. Excellent service. I will be back.
Not gay friendly. Service was adequate, but not polished. My server popped the cork out of the Silver Oak. I complained about my dry dessert. The server said, oh that’s too bad and dropped the check. I will not go back.
Delicious food- make a reservation!
Good neighborhood place. Had dinner the other day. Although the restuarant is crowded and noisy the food was very good and reasonably priced. The redfish with crabmeat is very good and not real heavy. The server was very attentive and helpful. Not a quiet romantic place but a good place to eat.
