Great Italian American groceries. The old Economical in Gentilly. Produce here is very good. Also a decent butcher who cuts good meat, even if the meat isn’t the highest quality in the world. The store is a little dirty and dingy and dark, but it’s well organized and the staff are very friendly. At the front of the store is a little grill that makes some good basic foods like burgers and pasta. Also some good premade pasta meals ready. Artichoke caserole is a favorite.
