Thin & Crispy!. If fried catfish is your thing, this is the best in town.

Disappointed. Went there last week and was disappointed. Strips of fish were way to thin. I did not order thin. No meat in between outter crust! And baked potatoes were like they were cooked last week..overdone..and not even hot enough to melt butter.

The food is great but they should rethink their ‘cafeteria style dining!’ Printed menus and new tables and chairs would make a huge difference.

Why can’t the dining ‘experience’ match the super quality of the food?. First timers; we’ve wanted to eat here for several months but it’s always packed– for 2 reasons- 1 good & 1 not-so-good. First, the entrance and ordering area is VERY confusing, congested, & almost a turnoff to eating here. It’s a one-stop everything. No hostess, no menus ( only the overhead lit menu above the cashier/order placer), no place to sit except for a bench. You MUST remain in line or risk getting lost in the shuffling confusion & lose your spot in line. Don’t ask for any assistance with seating arrangements, item descriptions, or where to get plates/cutlery. This results in a hurried, huffed retort of a brief ‘you can read the menu, choose your own table (hopefully clean), drinks are over ‘there’ *pointing in general direction* from cashier, & muffled sighs & groans from other patrons in line behind you. Catfish Charlies was previously ‘Cici’s Pizza’. The former’s tables and other gear are still in use here. Cafeteria style seating, noisy atmosphere, and bussers merge/swerve along with patrons through the narrow walkspace around wobbily tables. There is an obviously updated dining space to the left of the entrance, but this appears to be the ‘reserved’ area for catering & parties- we couldn’t go eat back there. We got foam drink cups and had to fish out utensils and condiments from a ‘station’ that wasn’t the cleanest. Then we went to our wobbily table to listen for our yelled ‘name’ to go retrieve our order. When patrons spend around $70 on steak dinner, grilled salmon, veggies, an order of fried mushrooms & jalapenos- I would ‘ass’ume that the dining experience would not be so hassled & herded. The food is delicious all around. The steak was spot-on medium rare. The grilled salmon & zucchini was tasty. BEST fried mushrooms I’ve ever had. Fried jalapenos to eat with grilled meat & fish– are you kidding me? YUM. I hope the owner peruses comments from these various sites because he needs to totally re-think how the patrons order, retrieve, and dine inside. I don’t know how someone would manage if he or she was elderly, disabled, or had no assistance. If we lived in the area (we live an hour away), we would probably TAKEOUT from here at least once a week. But, despite the delicious food, it’s not enough to make us return–the chaotic ordering arrangement and the restaurant’s cafeteria styled, crowded, unkempt dining area are huge turnoffs. The ‘Alright’ review from Mike was very accurate.

I love the thin and crispy catfish. The fried shrimp are really good and big. My choice for local seafood.

Tuna and Zucchini. Went there for lunch and had some of the best grilled tuna and grilled zucchini I have ever put in my mouth. Everyone should seriously start trying their grilled items they are amazing.
