We weren’t sure of this place but were pleasantly surprised’ you give your meat order and move down the line kinda Cafeteria style and choose from two of the many sides. We had 3 ribs I had green beans, 1/2 side of potato salad and 1/2 side of coleslaw all was very good, J had baked beans and mac-n-cheese his were better. our only complaint was the ribs were a little on the tough side they had good flavor but tough. heydelhiblog.wordpress.com

Looking forward to eating there. Back in the mid 70’s i worked there when it was the hitch. Great b-b-que back then, and the posts are making it sound even better today. Next time in monroe i will go back but to danken trail.
This is the best BBQ joint in Monroe. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, as I have been to Great BBQ places across the country, but it is head and shoulders above others in Monroe. The food and service are very high quality. The brisket, beef and beans are all top notch. The mashed potatoes are out of sight! The value is great for the portions and quality, expect $7-8 per person. If you’re in Monroe and want BBQ, you must stop here.
Good, but not soulful.. Old school barbeque, ribs and pork nice and moist, brisket a bit dry. Better than average slaw and beans, Sauce about as good as a generic brand for the grocery store, and they want .82 for an extra (small) cup with to-go orders.
Best bbq around. Look no further for BBQ in the monroe area. This is the good stuff, just the same way they have been doing it for 20+ years. Tangy bbq sauce with just a little spice and just the right amount of smoke. The ribs, chicken, or chopped beef sandwiches are all very good, but for a real treat try the smoked brisket poboy. I now live in new orleans and despite the myriad of poboy options I have available, this one still brings me back every time I visit home. They also somewhat recently started cooking fried catfish, which I have only had once but was quite good. Finally, for a take-home treat, try their pork skins/porkrinds. Light, airy, and seasoned just right.
Their fried catfish is the BEST in town! I also love the BBQ & loaded mashed potatoes! Yum!!
