Go there and try it. Bring an open mind, but definitely go. A unique experience. The decor: imagine a restaurant closed in 1974 and someone came in and re-opened it in 2014 without doing anything to the interior.White-coated waiters, good food, nice clientele there. Nice place. Authentic Monroe.
TR & LK Riles. Great food, service & drinks but no lobster.
I have loved this place for 25 years!Gumbo, oysters and shrimp salad!Yum!
Food is good. Gumbo and boiled shrimp is my favorite. The husband always orders a poboy. Decor needs to be updated and everything needs to be cleaned. Very dusty. Staff was attentive
This should be much better. If not for the food, service and prices, this would be a great place. Gumbo is arguably the worst I have ever had anywhere. I have literally had to get up from my seat to find my waitress (who was smoking outside). The bill…not worth what I got.Having said all of that…I love their fresh shucked oysters and cold beer.
Not what it used to be. Average at best; food barely warm enough. Tuna sucks; gumbo still good. Hit or miss; not what they were 20 years ago
Best Raw Oysters Around.. I stopped in last week and had the raw oysters then ordered the catfish platter. The oysters are some of the best I’ve had in years. This was the first time I’ve ate at the mohawk and will definitely return for some more of them oysters.
