If you want to try the 2 for 1 Wednesday night hamburger special Portico is great. For anything else you will get over priced, luke warm food. I’ve ordered fish there twice along with grits and neither time was my food hot. My wife ordered shrimp and it wasn’t hot. They weren’t busy the last I was there and the service was terrible.
Pizza. Lunch today a problem. Less food for the money!!!!!
Great Experience. Stop!!! Emergency message for Portico Grill. Don’t change a thing! We normally visit with relatives in Monroe every year and eat at Portico Grill; but, this year we realized how far they’ve come in the Foodie World. We had a table of eight and ordered everything from Chips and Salsa, Shrimp and Grit Balls, Hamburger, Tacos with Honey and Sriracha Sauce glazed Shrimp, Seafood Gumbo and Spring Salad with Mandarin Oranges. Everything about the food was excellent including the service by our waitress that handled the table alone with such aplomb. There was nothing small about these plates. Truly a great experience that made our trip to Monroe even more special.
This was absolutely an outstanding dining experience! We had a party of eight and the service and food couldn’t have been better. We asked for recommendations and everything was as advertised! We started with chips and queso which came with a delicious homemade salsa. The shrimp and grit balls and the shrimp Massey were outstanding. My Dad got a bowl of their gumbo and loved it! I could go on and on, but the bottom line is Don’t Miss This Restaurant!!!
Menu. I really have always enjoyed going to Portico but recently they made their menu super small and it is really disappointing.
I Truly Enjoyed My Experience!!!!. I had the pleasure of visiting this fine establishment accompanied by wife whom is with child. I opted for the catfish w/ mac and cheese and she ordered the shrimp and grits which both dishes were phenomenal in every since of the word. The waiter was quite courteous and friendly ensuring that our lunch experience would be that of a pleasant one. It is simple to write a review and share my experience, however to fully understand the essence of this place one has to go and experience it for themselves. I highly recommend going to Portico, you will be glad you did.
Freezing cold. The restaurant was freezing cold everyone had jackets on. The excuse was heater was not working right. Here is a suggestion: offer people something hot. Tea,coffe etc. I hate more than anything not having my glass full, or having to ask my waiter to fill it. The only positive note my sandwich was ok.
