The food was great. The restaurant is clean, the waitstaff is friendly, service is quick, I don’t know what else you could want! If you like Greek/Lebanese food, and you want a nice sit-down experience, Olympus has you covered. I completely cleaned my combo plate with ease.
I’m glad we are starting to see new restaurants in New Iberia besides the chains and burger places. With that said, I can’t say I’m a big Greek and Lebanese food person. I have heard several friends say they loved the chicken Shawarma so I decided to give it a try. It is marinated chicken with a feta salad, white rice, with hummus. I liked the salad, fresh and tasty even though feta isn’t my favorite type of cheese. It is a bit strong for my taste but they didn’t put a lot. A little goes a long way. The hummus was a bit bland. The chicken was pretty good. I liked the marinade and the charred edges. But as I have found with every Greek and Lebanese restaurant I’ve gone to, it was a bit on the dry side. Not as bad as most I’ve had but I did like it. All in all it was good but not amazing. Price wasn’t bad. Service was good. I maybe come back and try something else.
Love this place. The humus is wonderful. I’ve enjoyed the gyro and and the grape leaves. The staff is very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back.
We’ve eaten at Olympus twice and we’ve been very impressed. Fresh, warm pita bread, flavorful Mediterranean hummus, delicious cabbage rolls, and amazing gyros coupled with attentive service place Olympus at the summit of a range including Zeus and Athena in Lafayette. It’s great to have a high-quality but casual new restaurant in New Iberia.
Finally, a Greek restaurant in New Iberia! Tried it for the first time this week. Had the veggie sandwich plate. Mushrooms, squash, zucchini, and tomatoes all grilled and seasoned quite well. Very fresh Grecian dip. Nothing extraordinary about the hummus or salad, but still quite good.
