Overrated. This place is extremely overrated. I thought the food was bland and there was nothing special about it. If you’re in New Iberia and craving Mexican food, I’d recommend going to El Chile Verde instead.

Eh…. I hear its the best New Iberia has to offer. i’ll drive to Lafayette or Baton Rouge next time. it wasnt much better than Taco Bell.
How do you make fajitas when they forget to put tortillas in your take out? Flavorless rice, boring beans, was that Mexican Velveeta cheese. Ugh
The margaritas are always great. Best in the Berry! Food is always good and consistent. Fajitas, borrito del mar, fajita chimi are all very good. The service has been slow for years. Idk what they did but the past few months the service has improved a lot. Now I get my food….well to fast if there is such a thing LOL it comes before I can get thru 1/4 of my drink that I get in hand before they take my order. Also we barely get half way thru the chips and salsa! Don’t mean to make it sound like a complaint 😉 it’s a pleasent surprise. But I do with I had time to finish just one drink to get a second but that’s all LOL good job Tampicos.
I cannot comment on the food or service because no one waited on us We left the place after 10 minutes of no one even acknowledging we were there.
