I wasn’t expecting such good food here. We had 7 at the table, and 5 of us got the Friday special of fried catfish with cole slaw and fries. The fish came out hot and fried perfectly. It was delicious. The potatoes were cut in a very different shape than you would expect for fries and were equally delicious. The portion was a good size for the $9.95 price. The service was quite friendly, and they brought cheesecake to the table for the three birthday girls.

KNEW eatery. Stopped off November 2014. Summary from the table: good fried green tomatoes, good burgers, good turkey sandwich, good fries, good gumbo, so-so red beans. Needs pepper sauce for collards. Everyone enjoyed lunch and the terminal renovation is beautiful. Everyone in our party would go back.

The Turkey sandwich on Focaccia bread was DELICIOUS! I’m not a big fan of trying new things and I’m set in my ways, but this sandwich was worth the try. There was a dijon mustard mixed with mayonaise type of sauce on it that kicked it over the edge! I will most definetely be stopping by again soon.

Great Rennovation & Food. Neat new place run by Messina. Be sure to check out the Walnut Room for brunch. Good omelet choices. Try the Dolittle! Friendly and competent staff.

Art Deco Cafe with Great Food. I wanted to try this cafe that was opened as part of the Lakefront Airport restoration project. The cafe is located inside the terminal building, just to the left when you walk through the main doors. There is no signage on the outside. The food was great! I had the grilled chicken breast sandwich. It was tender, flavorful and seasoned well. The fries that come with it are really good too. My companions had hamburgers. They said their sandwiches were good and very juicy. The lunch menu also had salads, pasta dishes, New Orleans-type dishes, po-boys and a kid’s menu. They have a sizable breakfast menu too, which is served until 11 am on weekdays and all day on the weekend. I’ll have to come back to try it. Coke was served in glass bottles which I thought was a nice touch, since the restaurant has a vintage feel to it. Our waitress was all smiles the whole time and very attentive. Definitely going back!
