After several years of declining quality I’m happy to say food today was excellent.
Bad start—Good finish. 4/25/14 Just got back from dinner at Morel’s. The two of us were directed to our table that was situated diagonally, partially in a doorway, and very closely bordered by another table with occupants. Our table was too close to both edges of the doorway for us to be seated, so the hostess tried to move the table to accommodate us and asked what we wanted to drink. But the table was still too close to move the chair out. By that time the hostess had disappeared, so we moved the table further into the doorway so that the opposite two chairs could be moved out. It was very frustrating having to make accommodations for ourselves, The water arrived, but ten minutes had elapsed from the time that we were shown the table until the time the waiter arrived. The hostess and the waiter seemed impatient and we felt hurried. There was no delay with our food, and I was surprised because of what we had just been through. I ordered the Sensation Seafood Salad with fried shrimp. Everything about it was just right. About five minutes later the waiter returned and I asked for toast to accompany the salad and it was brought promptly. I had two glasses of wine with the meal and that helped me improve my attitude about our treatment. We drove thirty miles to have dinner at Morel’s. If they want to keep customers walking in, they should treat their customers as their guests.
