Don’t waste your money…. As a previous reviewer stated this place is open because of its regulars, which are all over the age of 60. I felt horrible for our waitress and suggested she look for another job because this place is going to go out of business when the regulars pass away. We went for lunch on a weekday. Decided to order the special of fish and fries. I mean how can you wrong right?!? Its a seafood place! Wrong! Paid 10$ for the most pathetic plate of food I have ever seen. They fish fillets were actually cut in half and served as a while fillet. See picture I added to the gallery. I was furious at the amount of fish on my plate. I asked the waitress for her opinion on the amount of fish I had received and she apologized stating yes, she does get that a lot. I sent the appetizer of cheese fries back because they are obviously suffering from freezer burn, dripping in grease and were absolutely disgusting. So then we spent the rest of our meal getting the glare of death from the owner sitting at a table in the corner of the restaurant. We will not ever return. For another 10 min drive, and alot less money, we could have been in Iron Cactus ecstasy!! Hope our sweet waitress listened to our advice and moved on.

Greatly improved service! It took a while, but they’ve gotten it right. Crawfish and shrimp are excellent. Looks like some needed remodeling as well.

Crawfish Possibly Best In Area. The Cheniere Shack may have the best crawfish in the Twin Cities (Monroe/West Monroe) area. This restaurant is packed almost every night. Why? Because they have good food. Why all the negative reviews, then?Well, this is a place that thrives on regulars (I’m not a regular, by the way, but I’ve been treated well there) that are either older, and families with kids. It’s not fancy, but it’s also not cheap. 1. If you’re under 30, don’t go their without your parents. If you’re under 30 and are wearing your ball cap on backwards don’t go there at all.2. The hostesses and waitresses are brusk, and sometimes seem rude. They will throw plates of food onto your table when things are busy. If you don’t like that kind of thing, you probably should go somewhere else. 3. Try sitting at the bar, order some drinks, and give the bartender a nice tip. Then ask for a menu, and order dinner. I guaranty that you will get some of the best food and service any where around here. When the owner is behind the bar, he is especially friendly and attentive.

All we wanted was pie. We waited about 20 minutes then my husband had to hint down a waitress. She finally took our order and we had to wait another 20+ minutes for her to bring it to is. It’s sitting right there at the counter. It should only take about 5 minutes. Ridiculous. And the Live Musis was WAY too loud.

The food is mediocre to say the least.

Finally, got it right …. After years of staying away for so many reasons, our family rolled back in there to eat some crawfish and boiled shrimp. Busy Friday night – no problem, we expected a short wait. It was finally worth it for a change; not only was our server sharp but our order was right and very, very good. In fact, the shrimp peeled so easy and they were awesome. To make sure, we didn’t just catch them on a good night, we went back last night. They’re two for two. Thumbs up on finally getting it right..

Pleasantly surprised …. We traveled to the area from East Texas and was looking for a lil hole to try. This was a delightful find. The fried catfish were delicious. The crawfish was some of the best I have ever had. The facility was CLEAN (including the bathrooms). Our server was polite and attentive. The homemade strawberry cake was fantastic. We will go back when we are back in the area!
