Delicious food, friendly staff! The salsa is fantastic, try the fried avocado! I have never had a bad meal.. Go hungry cause the portions are large. I usually have a doggy bag. There is liable to be a wait list no matter what day you go on.You can call ahead and get on wait list.

AWESOME!. My family and I eat here Atleast twice a week if not more! Staff is awesome and food is the best Mexican good in town! Defentaily recommend!
Went there with 12 other people. Had reservations for 7pm. Did not get seated till 7:45. Service slow. My husband ordered the pulled pork tacos. They came out burnt. Told waitress, she offered him a menue then refused to wait on us the rest of time. Had a margurita that was mostly tequila. Finally my husband got up and spoke to mgr. He admitted he left meat on too long. Husband asked why he served to customers and mgr said because people kept ordering. Never offered to make it right. When i asked waitress if there was a review section on website, she asked why and i told her. She offered to get mgr of which i said should have been done to begin with. She got an attitude and left. My food was ok but have had better mexican. We are frm texas and heard great things about this place. Will never go back and do not recommend to anyone
Driving back from MS to TX and stopped at Iron Cactus. Food and service was excellent! We started off with the queso with beef, then my husband ordered the fish tacos and I the combo fajitas. We will definitely stop by again next time we are traveling through the area.
Not that great. We have heard that this place was great but we were severely disappointed. I will point out that it is the best in Calhoun because there are no others. We normally don’t care if the wait is long but it was over an hour. I got the enchiladas with fajita meat. I will say the chips and salsa are good but that is the only thing. The tortillas on my enchilada were the wrong texture, and the sauce tasted like Hormel chili. The rice tasted like the Spanish rice that you can get from the grocery store for 98 cents. Also, my food sat for so long after being prepared that the enchilada sauce had a skin on it. Also, everything at this restaurant is $5 more than it is at the other area restaurants.The service was fair, and our waitress was nice. I just don’t see why they can’t find a recipe for rice and enchilada sauce on the internet. They already have tomatoes, so it wouldn’t be that difficult.
Iron Cactus is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant! I absolutely love their chips/salsa, salad with salsa ranch dressing, Mexican cornbread, steak, and burgers. I’m sure the other menu items are just as good. They almost always have a 30-60 min wait on any night, but it is worth the wait!!! We make frequent trips to Calhoun just to eat here.
