Judy. The first time that we went to Buffs,it was good. I got the catfish poboy, and my husband got the burger. The poboy was great, with crispy, flavorful fish. Neither of us liked the steak cut fries. We asked for them to be extra crispy, but they were not crispy after the waitress assured us that they would be crispy. The burger was OK. We went back the next day because the fish was so good the day before ,however, we were disappointed. The fish and onion ring in the catfish box were real greasy. The catfish did not taste fresh, and was not crispy. It is a shame, as the restaurant choices are limited in this area, we were hoping for a good place to eat.

The catfish was fresh and fried well. My husband got the burger, that was just O.K. We went back the next day, and ordered the catfish plate with onion rings. The catfish and onion rings were really greasy, and the catfish did not taste real fresh. We were disappointed as there are not many places to eat in New Roads.
Overwhelming food quality, even for a small town!. Couldn’t stop myself from eating. Had the best onion rings ever. Fried catfish with touffe over rice. Wow. Had jalapeo poppers. Oh my. Soooo good. Fresh salad with fine quality greens and a Restuarant made salad dressing! Home made cheesecake was big city class. Got way more than I was expecting. The place looks basic but the food is far above what I’d expected.
Don’t let the truck stop mislead you…. The food here is amazing!!! Fine dining quality! The food is hot, fresh, and very well seasoned. This atmosphere is nice, local, and very clean. Had lunch at Buff’s Cafe today. The food was wonderful! The atmosphere was great. Small town cafe with very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of smiles, hellos, and how are you doing. Most of our group order the Cajun meatloaf with mashed potatoes. They loved it! Will return very soon.
