I think this is a good stop when traveling along I-10. Easy off and back on. Comfortable sit down type of restaurant. But a casual one. Nice selection of south Louisiana seafood dishes. Food is reasonably good though I wouldn’t say really exceptional. But all in all, this is a great place to eat when traveling along I-10.
This is a restaurant that my wife and I will forever remember and definitely return to. We chose to dine here right after our wedding for dinner. The owner was a superb host and greeted us promptly at our table. He truly made this a special date for my wife and I. We ordered the large seafood platter and everything was excellent. Nothing was over battered and the quality of the seafood was superb. The fried frog legs and oysters were the best that I have ever had!! We also tried the gumbo and corn soup. Both were perfect. We will definitely be returning on our anniversary and recommend this fine restaurant to our friends and family. Thank you again Robert!!
February 23,2014. My husband, a Rayne high school alumni, and I ate at Chef Roy’s and ordered the coconut beer battered fried shrimp with a side of zucchini & yellow squash. The shrimp were the best we have ever eaten served with an orange marmalade sauce, and the squash was superb. Frankly, I would love to know what seasonings were in the squash dish besides red onion. Wow! Can’t wait to eat there again next time we are nearby.Ardis and Betty Wilson

Wow, what a treat! I looked at the reviews here and decided to try it… I would highly recommend Chef Roy’s Frog City Cafe! By the way, it is not the Cajun Resturant connected to the Frog City Casino on the south side of I-10 ! Oh yah, Chef Roy’s has the best Gator we have ever had and the Egg Plant fries are a wonderful replacement for Potato fries.
Went there last Friday and absolutely LOVED IT! I got the Crawfish Mardi Gras, it was FANTASTIC!
Excellent place to eat. Great food great service! !
