Uptown price for trailer park cuisine. Simply put the quality and taste of the food did not match the prices they were charging. The food was bland and tasteless and I felt like a fool after paying my bill. The only pleasant part was the cute friendly waitress which unfortunately I don’t remember her name. I guess I was to occupied trying to swallow the food and my pride.

Hopeless. I decided to stop in at Armonds for a bite to eat during my lunchbreak. I ordered the seafood platter which used to be $15.99 and is now $22.00. The fried catfish was soft and tasted horrible. I could tell that the batter was different and there was less food than when it was $15.99. I also overheard the new owner talking bad about her own customers, saying that she hopes they don’t return! Who does that ?!! After that experience it would take new owners for me to go back. Too bad the original owners sold the business. I guess its downhill for armonds.

Great Food & New Owners. I eat at Armond’s at least once per week. I’ve never tried anything that I haven’t liked. They have the BEST Hot Tamales and Gumbo, and I promise you won’t find any like theirs anywhere else. One of the owners came to my table personally to introduce herself and seems really excited about taking over Armond’s. The waitresses are all very friendly. Since the new owners have taken over, I can see that business has picked up a great deal. They have the same items on the menu and added a few things as well and compared to other restaurants in the Parish, they have great prices. If you were ever disappointed with the service before with the previous owners, I would definitely give them another try. I promise, you won’t regret it!!

Best in the parish!!! Fantastic food, great service, very friendly. The new owners are improving the restaraunt greatly. Armonds is certainly a must stop while you’re down in the parish.

Terrific Surprise. I was coming back from the DMV and decided to stop on the way home for something to eat. Luckily I saw their sign and pulled in. Terrific friendly service. I had the soft -shell crab and angel-hair pasta. Wow! so good. They had a decent glass of wine too! I think this place could really take off if they spruce up their look. Right now it looks like a fast food place. If they put charming checkered (or white) table cloths, turned off the overhead florescent lights in the seating areas, and put small lamps on each table, they would be over the top! The food is truly good enough to warrant an upscale atmosphere. Do that and I foresee a line of people waiting to be seated!Just my 2 cents! Thanks for the great meal.

Best grilled chicken breast ever. Cajun seasoning out of this world. Super service. Menu offers great selection of local cuisine.

Pleasant Find in Da Parish. I’ve driven past this place a thousand times and really never gave it a second look until a friend suggested that we give it a try, what a pleasant surprise! It’s typical of the type of restaurant you find in St. Bernard, small, no frills, nice people and great food. It’s a mix between seafood and Italian dishes. We started with the hand battered onion rings, fried to perfection. We originally ordered the seafood platter but we were told they didn’t have oysters due to the BP OIL spill, so we both changed to the shrimp platter with fried sweet potatoes. Again, both the shrimp and the sweet potatoes were fried to perfection and were delicious. The only unpleasant surprise was the bill. With tax and a generous tip it cost about $42 which we thought was pretty expensive. The waitress didn’t tell us that menu prices on seafood dishes had increased and we didn’t notice the $2 up charge on each order of sweet potato fries ~ in total that accounted for about an additional $10. In the end, the food was great, we were pleased to support a local business in St. Bernard Parish during this very trying time with the BP OIL crisis but find it difficult to stomach $42 for 2 simple meals that should have been no more than $30. We sure wish we could send part of our bill to British Petroleum as I bet Armond’s wishes they could too. We wish them the best of luck during this unfortunate and trying times. Hopefully they will be able to continue serving Louisiana seafood and soon see brighter days.
