Stella Maris is my Favorite Lebanese restaurant in New Orleans. I really like the lamb chops. Unlike other places they use US lamb Vs New Zealand lamb. I find their lamb more fresh and more tasty. I also like their desert selection
Delicious!. We ordered the stella maris special, beef shawarma, and lamb chops…it was all very good. The fresh ground meet is also very yummy; I have brought it home to cook and was very surprised at the quality and freshness! Will go again!
A Gem. Stella Maris Cafe has, hands down, the best chicken shawarma that I’ve ever tasted. Their Lebanese tea was a little different from others that I’ve had (less pine-nutty?) and their hummus was a bit thinner than I’d like (maybe too much tahini?), but the entrees and appetizers were great. Loved their falafel, in particular. I wish I could recall what it was called, but they had a dessert that I’ve not seen in other Middle Eastern restaurants. It’s similar to baklava, but it’s filled with sweet cheese and topped with a thin, warm syrup. Try it!It may not look like much from the outside, but give it a go. The people who work there embody Middle Eastern hospitality, and love to talk about their food. They’ve got a small grocery and butcher inside as well!
