I’ve had good and bad experiences but the one consistent is the smoked salmon, a must try! Plus if you drink enough of the Lemon Drop Martinis it won’t matter how salty the steak is!
Not bad Mediterranean food with some Cajun/Creole flair and the usage of local seafood. The Pasta Petra I had was excellent, it had shrimp, craw-fish, and crab-meat in a mushroom cream sauce. As for the atmosphere it was trying for high-class, but seemed so dark and dated like an 80’s hotel; and for the service, it was a bit slow, even though the place was empty.
Good Mediterranean/ Italian Food in LaPlace. As a thank you for dog sitting our friends treated us to dinner at their favorite LaPlace restaurant Petra. We arrived about 6PM and were seated in the empty main dining room. Our waitress was very attentive (bringing bread to the table when she saw we had two hungry small children with us) and suggested several items off the menu when she heard it was me and my husband fist time at Petra. After studying the menu a little we ordered the crawfish pontchartrain and chicken parmesan. The food came out sort of slow in my opinion since they didn’t look busy but it was fresh and hot when it arrived at our table. To finish our meal on a sweet note we shared a tiramisu and cream brulee.
