This is my second time here and I am very disappointed. If it were just me I would probably not written a review because it doesn’t deserve my attention however I took my mom with me this time…It started off with a very pushy waitress, we were undecided on what to eat and she just tried to push us into ordering.After a few we decided on Calamari and fried eggplant as the appetizers. Both were wonderful with huge portion of each. We ordered fried softshell crab and crab cakes that came out about 2 minutes after the appetizers. This is a pet peeve of mine…You have to give the customer time to eat their appetizers what do I eat first so it don’t get cold???? If I eat my appetizers first my main dish gets cold if I eat my main dish the appetizers get cold….I feel ashamed that I suggested this place and didn’t go with my first pick The Acme oyster House… I will never come here again!!!!The food is the only reason I gave them a 2….
This place is ok. You would think there would be a redfish dish or speckled trout on the menu. Tilapia and Basa? That’s just wrong. I went with the safe bet of gumbo,which contained shell fragments and a crawfish pasta. Overall average food friendly service and decent decor
This place is nothing fancy, but their food is really good and they have beer on draft, everything I want in a restaurant. Also, they have the best red beans and rice I’ve ever had.
Perfect end to our trip. Exactly what I was looking for on our trip to southern Louisiana. We got the boilerd shrimp and crawfish with corn and potatoes, frog legs and a seafood gumbo and everything was beyond Amazing! Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Only small downfall is their older ladies working there seem so grumpy. Our cashier(not waitress) didn’t smile once and wasn’t very pleasant to us.

Best Seafood in LaPlace. In my opinion, Pier 51 has the best seafood in Laplace. I have never had a bad experience while eating there nor when I order to go. The fish is not full of batter like other seafood restaurants do and the oysters are big and tasty. I would recommend Pier 51 to anyone looking for some great tasting seafood.
