Medium Rare Steak @ Refrigerator Temp. I have tried out Abby Singer’s twice and there will not be a third. My steak appeared to actually be precooked and then refrigerated.. It was blue in the middle and room temperature on the outside. And frankly, I do not believe it was a NY Strip. Service was awful.
Great bistro quality food – you will love it.. We’ve been taking in movies at the Robinson for a few years but never tried the bistro so this week we gave it a try. Arriving about forty minute before out feature proved to be excellent timing too.We sat on the balcony which over looks historic downtown Shreveport Texas Street. Some of the old buildings are a bit run down but the view of the patio was almost as good as the view of my sweetheart that night. Cool breezes, deep colors of sunset, quiet street, a few other couples – older and younger- enjoying each other and the view. We started with the stuffed Avocado, which is filled with great crab dressing wrapped in bacon and quickly fried. Sounded strange but was so good! Try this if you like avocado. For entree we each had the fish taco dish. Mine was fried and hers grilled. We’ve had fish tacos around Shreveport and up and down the Florida coast at some really nice places but either version of Abby’s beats any of them hands down. Such a delightful surprise. Both were topped with a ton slice of avocado and yay buy the star was the pineapple salsa served four a topping. Goodness… sweet and tangy with cilantro. The service was exceptional, attentive but not intrusive. This is a great place for a wonderful evening with someone special!!The movie was pretty good too.
Me and my girlfriend came here to celebrate my birthday. After eating here for prom, I knew we had to come back! I had the filet mignon again, which was quite delicious! My grilfriend had the pulled pork sandwich which was very good! It could have used a little bit more sauce, but it was still delicious! Our waiter was very professional. I will be coming here again! One of my new favorite places to eat!28 Apr, 2013I took my girlfriend here for our prom dinner. Once we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly staff. They were nice and were very helpful with aiding us in our selection since we have never been their before. The food was amazing. Their steak is the best in town! The staff are amazing. They were glad to take pictures of us on their balcony. I love this place! I definitely have a new favorite restaurant
This is one of my favorite places until today! Went in at 2:00 pm and was told that they were closed but the sign said close at 2:30! Really? Where they do that at?
I’ve eaten here twice, and have to say I’m disappointed overall. I didn’t think I’d ever come back after my first time. Two coworkers & I grabbed what we thought would be a relatively quick bite to eat after a meeting we had in the upstairs of the RFC. It was in the middle of the week, about 1:00, and not very busy. We each ordered a burger and fries – nothing special. It took over an hour to get our food and others who came after us were being served long before us. We had to ask our waiter to put our food in to-go boxes or else we would miss our meeting. We are convinced he forgot to put in our order – but he never said anything or offered us a complimentary appetizer or anything, so we set there and starved. When I finally got to eat at my desk after my meeting, the burger was good, nothing to write home about. I decided to give it another try before a movie recently. My friends and I arrived an hour and a half before the movie and the service was much better. It’s nice they let you take your cocktails/drinks into the theatre. They were out of the Duck Nachos – the appetizer we wanted to share, which was a bummer. It’s a great idea for a restaurant and has potential to be very successful, I’m just not that impressed after my first two experiences. But as they say, third time’s a charm… We’ll see if I go back!
What in the world is the fuss about. I don’t understand what the rage is about this place. The food is entirely too expensive for the portion, service is slow slow and did I mention slow. Quality of the food is average on a good night. It’s a place to have a drink and be seen-that’s it. The pretense is in the pudding.
Super good food. Had the chicken and waffle dinner… it was way better than i had expected and the flavor was really unique. the chicken was thinly sliced, moist and lightly battered… the garnish makes the meal… salty, sweet, with just the right amount of everything. i have been craving it since the first meal. sat out on the balcony, which was really nice… they don’t allow smokers outside, so that is a plus for folks who have issues with breathing smoke, like asthma. only one complaint… someone down below on the street was sitting in his diesel pick up truck with the engine running and the fumes on the balcony got so bad i thought i was going to pass out! finally, a waitress went down and asked them to shut off the engine or move along… thank goodness.
