Locals can tend to be overly affable toward Chinese take out joints. With no outstanding Chinese restaurants and mostly buffets for comparison I do see why. With this in mind I had low expectations when I entered. I was at least somewhat pleasantly surprised by my meal. I was impressed with the size and scope of the menu and was happy to see two sections of healthier options. The Buddha’s Delight is on a special diet section thou it probably deserves a better description. You’ll find this simple dish at most Chinese restaurants by one name or another, steamed medley of vegetables, steamed rice with sauce on the side. I don’t use the sauce but I did try it. It wasn’t as dark and thick as most brown sauces. It had flavor without totally obliterating the vegetables. The vegetables included snow peas, not always included in other versions and a very welcome addition. Price was a couple of dollars less than I’m use to paying, a plus for such a simple dish. The nice guy that took my order, I assume the owner, was friendly and made sure I knew it was a steamed dish, probably not a big seller. The restaurant was clean and for a predominantly take out place somewhat decorated. Yes there are a few tables if you choose to dine in. I look forward to investigating the rest of the menu especially the very affordable lunch section. P.S. Don’t overlook Pita de Novo at the other end of the small strip.
I needed to pick up Chinese food for my family of 5 kids me my mom. Ask questions that he could not answer because he did not speak very good English or he was avoiding my questions I really not sure. I asked him what type of rice do they cook for their fried rice. He either ignore me or he didn’t know how to answer the question. I paid $46 and some change and got $20 worth of food that barely fed 3 of us!I stretched it to 4 people and the other three I had to go to Wendy’s and get them a separate meal. They are extremely overpriced for such small amounts. Their food taste decently as far as compared to any other Chinese restaurant except their fried rice was Bland and the texture wasn’t correct. I would know because I used to cook fried rice myself. This experience has encourage me to cook my own fried rice instead of buying it from this greedy Chinese restaurant! I recommend that you don’t ever eat here!!!!!!!
