Went into China Flag yesterday with my daughter, the moment I walked in RATS running around. Very disappointed… It use to be my favorite place to eat.

I took my family of 4 to eat here on a Saturday night, now I know why there was almost no business. It was almost $50 for my fiance and I and our 2 kids to eat, which for the selection and quality of food and service was ridiculous. The bossier store has at least double the variety, and most of the selection at this location wasn’t even remotely Asian. All of the 4 kinds of sushi were old, most of the food was overcooked or really old and you had the choice between fried, fried and ,fried..the one non fried Item (beef & broccoli) resembled dog food. Our waitress got an attitude when we ask for drink refills. If you want to spend $50 on dinner go anywhere else! Sumo is so much better and their food is fresh and people are nice. I and my family will NEVER return to any China Flag location. I should have gotten my money back.

Never again!. We’ve been here twice. The first time was for lunch, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food seemed fairly fresh and hot, and the variety nice. Fast forward one week. We took our teenager for dinner due to the awesome selection of various seafood. Walking in we were greeted with the smell of grease – you know the smell, and it was combined with a musty smell. Most of the food was left over from lunch – stale, luke warm and nasty. One of the steam tables was not working, so all the food on that station was cold. When we informed the hostess, she said the lights weren’t working there and it would be fixed the next day. The fried shrimp was overcooked, stale AND cold. I would normally give a place 2-3 times to be fair, but this experience was so bad that we will not go back. I don’t need to go to buffets anyways, so back to Imperial Cathay we go!

One of my favorite spots. The staff works very hard to keep all the food hot and fresh , friendly people, and quality food. The sushi is the best I’ve found at any local buffet. One of the few places I can take all my friends and family where they can get plenty to eat with their differing tastes and NOT break the budget.

Up and down. Food is fresh and good quantity.. decor is nice.. price is right.. my only complaint is the coconut shrimp is dry and bland and has no sauce on it at all..

Update September 2015Sometimes I wish I wasn’t right (see original review). I still can’t comprehend why Chinese buffets in the area can’t keep their quality up and maintain their buildings. While this location has not fallen as far as the Bossier location, all the signs of a demise are there; lower food quality, inside and outside cleanliness and repair faltering. Simple landscaping is being neglected, and that really signals the amount of care and attention the owners / management are giving the restaurant. The quality is now down to Sumo levels, I’m curious as to which folds first… Original Review October 2013: Finally Open. And worth the wait. Decent buffet sushi, nice salad and fruit bar, large selection of good Chinese dishes. Very nice if not over the top decor, think disco lights and chandeliers. Most local Chinese buffets start out strong then dwindle (except Sumo, it’s started bad, got worse). The challenge will be for them to keep the place clean and in good repair (unlike Chef Lee) and keep the food quality up (unlike Hong Kong City). Here’s to hoping they keep up the good start!
