We do not go to or order from Crawdaddy’s anymore. It is expensive and the place is so loud it is awful. So we decided to just order and pick up since they are just a mile from our home. Well, that worked out ok to a point. But they gave us some gift cards for birthdays and anniversery Hah. We called to order and were told that you must come in to use your gift card. Why? Because that is how it works. But if we come inn we have to dress and tip and we would enjoy it more if we picked up. You can but you cannot use your gift card. I do not understand. Let me talk to the manager. I want to understand the why of it. The food costs the same either way so why do we have to go in. Sorry manager is not in. So we got something from another place. We have a couple dozen places all around us within a mile. But wanted to use our gift card. So called again and asked for manager. Wanted to understand why we had to come in to use our cards. Not in.I tried 3 times in total, different days and hours. Not here. But you must eat in. Why? Policy. Oh, but I do not understand, it will cost the same. We often would get that huge platter that was about $30.OK. We have not gone back. We tossed our cards. And actually, the food is not the greatest. They batter everything so heavily you are not sure what you are eating. No dish is outstanding. The food is way overpriced for what you get and a lot of it is subpar. I do not know how they are still there. Maybe people want to try it, but those customers will run out. There are so many other places that are so good and cost so much less. We have been ordering in from Shanes of late. And for the most part they are quite good. Also high, but they go out of their way to please and have a pick up window besides. We have moved on. And we eat out or pick up several times a week. However they have lost our business. I do not like the noisy dining room. JUst a huge room full of noise. Not conducive to an enjoyable meal. They may last but I will not be surprized to see them close down. We did want to continue picking up on occasion, but eating in that place you can forget it. Bye Crawdaddys, we will watch and see how long you last. Will be interesting. And lots luck with your eat in only policy in order to use your gift cards. No point far as I can see. And no owner or manager to even speak too. Must be run by staff and boy they CAN use some help there. Also a cook that does not batter food to death. Ok, on anad at it. Time to go pick up our meal for today. But not from there. Adios and we shall keep an eye on what happens with the place.
I had heard mixed reviews about their crawfish, but I had a gift card and gave it a shot. Service was great and fast. The crawfish was a letdown, though. They sell it by the pound (currently 50 cents higher than Shane’s)or platter. Size- smallest I’ve had in the last month. I’d call them small to medium (odd this deep in the season). Non-Select at Shane’s have been much larger. Spice- not much flavor at all and water logged, like they’d been soaking in the cooler too long after cooking. And even though they SAY straight tails don’t mean they were dead, I found several straight and a few beheaded by the scooper. It was busy, so everything should’ve been fresh. Overall, it was just not good. (Note: I have no affiliation with any restaurant)
Ate lunch at Crawdaddy’s Kitchen in Shreveport, on Mansfield Rd. I arrived right at the lunch hour, the parking lot is rather small and they were having a truck deliver supplies. This unfortunately blocked access to the parking located at the rear, so be mindful that parking can be limited.I was waited on right away. I ordered the crawfish etouffe and green tomato relish. The sweet tea is very sweet so some might be advised to order it half & half. Crawdaddy’s is very casual so if you are looking for a white linen napkin, you won’t find that here.My food was brought right away. First, the tomato relish and tea, shortly followed by the etouffe, see the photos included. The relish is sweet & tangy, great for starters if you want less than a salad. The ettoufe has a creamy thick texture served over rice. Get the lunch portion if you have to go back to work after dining out. The taste is buttery and rich with vegetable and crawfish stock flavor. It was filled with crawfish and quite delicious. Some wanting a little more spice can add hot sauce or the crawfish seasoning, but be careful. The portion is substantial and I had a tough time eating both the relish & etouffe. The server refilled my tea once and asked when clearing away my plate if I was ready for my check. Some folks want dessert and some talk after lunch, I had to get on the road.In all, I wasn’t rushed but I was in and out of the restaurant in about a half hour. The price was reasonable and the food was outstanding. The only drawback is service can be slow at times. I have eaten at Crawdaddy’s several times and had nothing but good food. Fried catfish is great as is the boiled crawfish.Crawdaddy’s is time and money well spent.
I was one of a group of eight that had the misfortune to eat at Crawdaddys. We were seated quickly but the evening went downhill from there. Our server was apathetic; she did take our order – and that was all she did. We all started with the standard coleslaw and green tomatoes; I can’t really judge the coleslaw from the one teaspoon serving that was given to me. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and I believe I discovered the absolute WORST stuffed shrimp in the state. I was given three hush puppies that were the size of a marble and fries that were room temperature; the sides all tasted as if they had been out for some time. The shrimp was AWFUL; the crab stuffing and the shrimp were not fresh and tasted as if they had been frozen for quite some time – like maybe a year or two. The shrimp were mealy and mushy – and even though I paid $15 for the meal I left most of it on the plate. I cant think of any circumstance that would ever get me to return to this place; and if I could give a rating of 0 I certainly would.
WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. This was my first visit and last!!The service was the worst . The food was very over priced and when you order the Craw fish you must order potatoes and corn separate at a extra charge. We were not told this by our waitress. They were not busy at all so there was no excuse for the bad food and service. Our glasses were left empty. The food was cold.We ordered Bread Pudding and it had a odor to it and was burnt. Save yourself money and time and go to a better place.
Bad food. This is the second time In we have been to Crawdaddys to eat crawfish and fried fish that it has NOT been good. The fried fish was cool and limp. half of the crawfish were dead. They’d were spiced good. (what could be eaten) it was $50.00 wasted as far as we were concerned.
Nothing in the food made me think it was fresh. The service was lousy too. Very disappointed as I was hoping to find good local fare. I wouldn’t recommend it.
