Went this place on 2/16/2018 because my new wife said it has been around Shreveport for a long time. I was raised in south Texas and know Mexican food. I cook it and eat it a lot. I make my own breakfast taquitos and hot sauce . I make Barbacoa and other Mexican food that you can not get here in Shreveport. The food was bland the tortillas were cold and they put hot food in a cold tortilla. the salsa was watered down. The food tasted like hospital food, no taste and was cold. If I went next door to the other Mexican restaurant the food would have been hot and more authentic. If your looking for real Mexican food, do not go to this place. The only good thing was the price and the staff. The staff were awesome and they get 4 stars. The food really was terrible.

Sadly, they have remodeled, raised the prices and the quality of food was poor during our visit. Not the El Chico’s of old. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone at this time and it used to be a favorite.
Bland food, looks terrible. Worst food I’ve had in awhile. The service was okay but when they brought the food out, it was nothing like the menu description. It was bland and unsightly. I ordered carnitas tacos which were cold and covered in a brown sauce with no flavor. It looks like someone threw up on my tacos.
Best Restaurant In Town. My family and I dine at this restaurant every week because the food and staff is wonderful. The entire staff is friendly and upbeat each time we go there.
Food was very salty, and I love salt, but that was too much. Salsa had a lime/citrus taste that overpowered the rest of the flavoring in the salsa.
Nice location, friendly staff. Not much to say about this one. Average tex-mex joint. Great staff and drink menu. Food is average, good for the price.
