The food is always delicious, although their steak is some times dry and some times the service is slow. But everything else I’ve had from there has been absolutely amazing and the bean dip there is soooo amazing

Update January 2017:No longer can mention El Jimador with the best in the area. The food quality has gradually continued to slip and is now mediocre at best. I’ve never had an issue with service thou it is minimal. Even their once good salsa can be fairly nasty at times. Still best to stick to traditional Mexican dishes as opposed to Tex-Mex here. October 2015Over time I’ve had varying food quality and service but this still far outshines the other Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood and stands with some of the best in town IF you know what to order! The key here and at El Potrillo for that matter is they excel at Mexican food NOT Tex-Mex or AmeriMex. Hard shell tacos, burritos, fajitas etc. are not Mexican dishes and are no better here than other places. Go for the dishes you can’t pronounce or ask your server which are true Mexican dishes and try one, you’ll be glad you did. See my older review below, the Molcajete is a great example. Here’s a hint, authentic Mexican food never has orange colored cheese on it. It does include fresh vegetables and herbs like cilantro. Is not deep fried. Is far better than the Americanized versions found in chains, and generally healthier too… Molcajete Jimador. Wonderful dish big enough to share. Well seasoned strips of chicken, steak, shrimp, bell pepper, onion and tomato served in a pipping hot stone bowl. On top of all that you get tortillas, guacamole, rice and beans, and a great roasted jalapeo. Oh and buried deep was some very tasty chorizo!

Great!!!. We ate there for a friends birthday and we had a party of 10. We were seated, served and ate very quickly. We were in and out in a little over an hour! The service was great, and they did a little happy birthday song and made everyone crack up! I would highly recommend this place to friends family and strangers!
