I found the food and service above average. The menu is not like one of your typical chains and thank goodness for that! The pimento cheese was really tasty and beware of the Sides Flight, it is enough for two, at least, and very good!!

It leaves a lot to be desired. My wife and I went here for lunch and the waitress spilled our drinks on my wife. Didn’t get an apology from her or the manager. None at all. The cheddar burger was ok, but at $12 a little expensive for what you get. My wife got the chicken melt and the chicken was very dry. Will probably not be back.

Ehh… Not that great. We had a certificate that included an appetizer, / entrees and a dessert. We had the pimento cheese dip (pretty good), the flat iron steak (okay, not the best ever), the rotisserie chicken (AWFUL- apparent they cooked the night before and reheated) and the pecan pie (delicious- no garnish or presentation but good) for dessert. I don’t quite get the concept- they’re going for southern charm/ soul food, but they have very few menu items. The wind list is minimal, but they have a few nifty beers on tap. If you are staying here it’s not terrible, if you live here go somewhere else.

Quirky but with bad food. It’s obvious that a lot of time went into designing the aesthetics of this restaurant in an effort to be unique, and in so doing forethought into the menu was passed over. The interior of the building is quite nice and decorated well. Being a new restaurant everything is clean. The silverware is unique, the antique-looking bottle of water given to each table is interesting, the butter in the miniature cast iron skillet is a nice touch, but all of this is meaningless because I came here for food not ambiance. The beer menu is passable, nothing special. You won’t find a wide array of porters, stouts and IPAs, but there are a couple of choices to get you away from the light-beer domestic crowd (read some Abita and Guinness). The mixology menu is confused and the philosophy seems to be to throw a thousand ingredients into a single drink and call it fancy. It dones’t work well; the moonshine punch was just barely drinkable due to the confusing array of tastes going on within it. For starters we had the smoked duck spring rolls, which aside from the quality of the smoked duck (which tasted quite good by itself) were nothing you wouldn’t find on your average chinese buffet spread. The chicken and sausage gumbo was literally the worst gumbo that I have had in shreveport, and this is astounding because shreveport traditionally has terrible gumbo (I’m from New Orleans so I’m picky about this). My date tried the market salad, which like the drink menu, had everything from the kitchen thrown in and thus diluted the taste of everything in the bowl. I had the ribs which had a good flavor but the cooking technique was all wrong. Ribs should be falling off the bone with a nice pink smoke ring after being slow cooked for hours (anyone who has spent time in Tennessee could tell you this), but these were firmly adherent and tough. I’ve had worse meals in Shreveport, everything aside from the gumbo was edible and ribs had a great flavor to them, but I can’t see myself actively venturing back to this venue anytime soon.
