The atmosphere is okay, albeit a little cliqu-y. No one is very friendly, so not a good place to meet friends. Did not try the food, but I had the coffee. I wanted to be impressed; I really did, but it was horrible. I had to dump it out and go to Starbucks, which I don’t like doing. Cashiers were nice, but I probably won’t be coming back anytime soon. 🙁
Chocolate Chip Cookie. Semi-sweet cookie with nice pieces of chocolate throughout. Perfect with nice Americano.08 Apr, 2015Quiche. Seriously good quiche! Light flaky shell filled with egg, cheese, turkey bacon and spinach. Best quiche I’ve had in many years!08 Apr, 2015San Francisco Salmon Sandwich. Very good smoked salmon on ciabatta bread with dill cream cheese and greens. Served with chips, could use a dill spear but very good sandwich.28 Jan, 2014Great Decaf Americano. If you’ve made the switch to decaf or it’s too late for caffeine, give their Americano a try. I’m not a Starbucks hater but this Americano far outshines their national chain competitor down the street! In house fresh made food and goodies is also a welcome alternative to SB’s microwave food.
Saving grace is the good atmosphere. I’ll always go to Rhino because Shreveport, and there aren’t many coffee shop options. However, they could really benefit from training their baristas on how to make coffee. Their frozen coffee drink is good some days, but awful on other days. Inconsistent preparation. This is true for basically every drink I’ve ordered. Their food is generally ok, but the other day I got a Rhino breakfast biscuit, and -gag- the dough on the biscuit was straight-up raw. And it ruined their breakfast biscuit, so won’t be getting that again. Simple training could alleviate some of their issues.17 Aug, 2013Great place. I am so glad Shreveport has a locally owned coffee shop. A great place to hang out, study, read a book. A nice, warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Coffee is good, too!
Very nice experience. Good coffee, great quiche, friendly staff and lovely setting.
I got the cheddar biscuit, which was not a rolled out, cut biscuit, but rather a ‘bisquik’ style thing with no discernable cheese taste. Served dry – no butter or jelly. Had the texture that comes with being warmed in a microwave – the cardinal sin when dealing with any sort of bread, IMHO.
Love this place!. Coffee is great! I’ve now tried several food items and most of them are awesome as well. The good: The breakfast burrito and cinnamon toast are my favorite breakfast items. The salmon salad is good, but not what I was expecting. It has chopped salmon in it and is not a filet. I really like the tomato and pesto cheese sandwich. Cookies are great and the Rhino bar is amazing! The bad: The biscuit is beyond huge, but mine had no flavor, even with cheese and avocado over the egg. The oatmeal is just an instant pack- skip it.
GREAT VIBES. This place is AMAZING. Such a great atmosphere, wonderful coffee, warm and friendly greetings from the coworkers. DEFINITELY coming back!! 🙂
