Bland. I realize that cajun food is not hot but spiced! This place is not spiced the worst gumbo I have ever ate Campbell soup is way better!! It was brown water with chicken in it! My poboy had only12 pop corn shrimp on it over cooked!! My wife’s boiled shrimp were pre-cooked cocktail shrimp with spice sprinkled on it!! A 2 out of 10 only because the tea was good!!
Mixed results, but I like this place. For starters I have had a VERY hard time gettting even adequate, let alone good, service at any restaurant here in Shreveport since I moved here a little over a month ago. I’ve been to Shane’s three times and every time I received OUTSTANDING service, by far the best I’ve had in town. As for the food, the prices are good, and there are some good dishes. I loved the fried green tomatoes. On New Years they cooked a great fried pork chop special with some incredible cooked cabbage. The red beans and rice with sausage was also outstanding. On the flip side, the fried alligator and oyster po boy have disapointed, and the french fries are absolutely terrible, and often served lukewarm. There was also a homemade carrot cake that was absolutely to die for, one of the best deserts I’ve had in recent memory. Overall then I would say that one’s opinion could be flavored by what they order. I have had enough good dishes though to keep me coming, and the great service doesn’t hurt either.
What????. I ordered fried green tomatoes and they served me fried pickled tomato relish. Was this just a bad day with an ignorant cook or what? The rest of the meal was just ok.
I cannont believe this place can even get one good review. They must have ringers trying to write false reviews to help raise their rating. This place stinks.
Progressively getting worse. We’ve been to the restaurant several times. It was good on our first visit. However, over the next few times, the food and service got progressively worse. I can say the food was mediocre at best. On our last visit, you would have thought the teenagers behind the counter were completely put out by our request for lemon juice. That will be our last visit.
Crawfish cooked outstanding
Love it. We go here often. The prices are low, food is outstanding, and the folks are real friendly.
