  I had read the reviews on Southern Classic chicken and was very interested to try the place. So today we did. Ordered the 2 piece white meat with large fries and red beans and rice. Had read that the fries were perfect and the red beans and rice just right.The chicken WAS outstanding. Fresh, hot, juicy, delicious. Like fried chicken at Grammas when you were growing up. The fries however were not nice and brown and a bit crispy. They were limp, tasted a bit undercooked and sans seasoning or at least not much. Maybe I expected battered or extra crispy, I don’t know, but these were sad. We left half of them untouched. I put them in the freezer and will take them out, put them in oven at 400 degrees later (and have steak maybe) and add a bit more oil and seasoning and let them brown up a bit. They just were way far from greatThe red beans and rice were, well under expectations. Just nothing. Shanes is better and they are not that great. They had no cajun flavoring that we could detect. Maybe some cumin, but to me I only like that In maybe refried beans and Spanish Rice. Again, added seasoning and ate about half. A let down, And the pricing is somewhat high overall. About $16 as opposed to KFC which would be about $12 with 2 sides. So–.My decision is that we will swing by there again, but will just get some chicken and I will fix mashed potatoes and maybe some green peas at the house to go with it. The chicken is really good and fried chicken is a mess to cook. But that is about it. In fact the chicken is so good I may do that next week. And look forward to it. So try it. You may like it all. I just do not like to buy anything less than delicious. Not worth it. There is too much out there. And let us know what YOU think. To each his own you know. See you later. After our next outing.

  Cannot order from the menu board.. I went to the location on Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport tonight to order the same thing I have ordered several times in the past, that is a 5 piece Family Box Mixed and a Double Family Box Add On. Tonight I get told that I can only get the Double Family Add On if I order at least 8 pieces of chicken. I explained that there is no 8 piece Family Box only 5 and 10 piece so how am I supposed to order 8 pieces. There is nothing on the menu board that says you can only order a Single Family Box Add On with the 5 piece Family Box. I finally just drove away in total disgust flabergasted by a restaurant that refuses to sell the items as listed on the menu board. I will NEVER return!

  I ordered. A 15 piece Dark ask for 9 thighs, 6 legs. Got home and was giving lik 3 thighs and the rest legs for almost 16.00. I can buy 20 legs for less than that at the grocery store. Then I call up to complain and they never once offered to give it to me free the next trip like Churches does if they mess up. Piss Poor Customer Service. Great Chicken.

  Welcome Southern Classic!. The line and I mean long line down Mansfield Rd will tell you it’s good chicken. But it should also tell the Red Lobsters and Olive Gardens what a huge mistake they made closing their Southern Hills locations just because the mall went under. The people didn’t leave!
