Love the food here. Drive through is my nemesis. My order is not repeated back to me and they generally get it wrong. It’s always a little extra time getting it right. Despite that, I keep going back because it’s good.
At one time Yerro Yerro was the only game in town for Greek food. That has changed dramatically over the last few years with Greek / Mediterranean restaurants, chains and even fast food versions popping up. As many have stated it is quite a trip to enter this tiny building to see the lavish interior, you gotta go once just for the experience. The downside is they have not kept up with the new kids on the block food wise. The menu is heavy with sandwiches and pastas and light on traditional Mediterranean staples. The ones that are there are expensive and served barebones with no salad, humus or even olives and just a few small triangles of pita. Absent from the menu: tabouli, baba ghanouj, skordalia, lamb kabobs, lentil soup, fried cheese and there is only one fish dish and one lamb dish. Included are French fries, cabbage rolls, smoothies, pasta and paninis. The Greek Trio I had showed where they need to step up. The cabbage rolls were good thou somewhat over cooked making them mushy and losing some of the flavor and texture of the cabbage. Both the moussaka and pastichio lacked flavor being under-seasoned. As mentioned this was accompanied by only a few pita triangles, no salad, no humus and clocked in at $18! They actually have some specialty cappuccinos that go for $7, out charging Starbucks! My server was a nice young lady, she did her job well. I heard none of the yelling others have complained about, then again there was only one other table and I heard the drive-thru ring twice. (This was a Friday evening. I’m sure lunch is busier) If you’re looking for an interesting experience and maybe a Yerro (gyro) and fries you’ll enjoy your stop if you can find a parking spot. For those interested in a Mediterranean meal with all the trimmings, try Athena’s or even Pita De’ Novo further south on Youree Dr. It’s a fast casual restaurant but you get a choice of humus, tabouli, Greek salad taziki etc. and full haves of pita.
NOT GOOD. They served me left over pita bread from someone else’s plate. Eeeew! There’s just no coming back from that. Makes me wonder what else they do to people’s food.
My top Greek place in SB. When we first moved to Shreveport 3 years ago the quality was better it has started to go down hill a little. Hopefully they will improve. We have found a couple of hairs in our take out before so it has been placed at the bottom of our list. I will have to revisit later on down the road.
I love this place. I do my best to go in and eat as much as possible because i love the experience. Although, there drive thru is very nice. Im surprised how fast they prepare your meal in the drive thru. Inside the decor is over the top. I love bringing people there that have never been. They are so surprised because the outside is just a regular trailer. My service is usually pretty good. Ive seen a lot of wait staff come and go over the years and all of them complain about the owner. It is strange how he’ll sometimes stare at you from the window and he never smiles. BUT the food is so friggin good. I usually get the traditional gyro but you really cant go wrong. Plus the fries are so crispy and delicious! Their tea is fresh and doesn’t taste like dirt like most other Shreveport restaurants.
If you like fresh food I would not suggest this place. Maybe we cought them on a bad day. So all in all I will not be back.
Terrible staff and food!. I have eaten at Yeero Yeero several times in the past. It has probably been over a year and I decided to pick up dinner at the drive through this week. I ordered a Greek Plate and a large Greek Salad. The food was terrible! Both of these items were terrible. The salad had way too much lemon flavor and was nothing more than some lettuce, a couple of chunks of bad feta and a couple of olives. The Greek Plate was no better. Absolutely no flavor and the cabbage rolls must have been left over from previous day or days. I am part Greek and I am very familiar with all these dishes. We ended up throwing it all out. The employee at the drive through seemed very rude and couldn’t care less that I was there as a customer. While I was waiting on my order this same employee was picking a scab on his arm! I will NEVER eat here again!
