Touch of Italy disappoints. Interesting reading the other reviews. Sometimes you find little out of the way places that are amazing, but not in this case. I had canneloni, my wife had chicken piccata. Service was fine. Didn’t enjoy the taste of the water, even with lemon in it. The salad was ok, but uninteresting, and the dressing too oily. My entree was visually dull, a big pile of cheese over sauce, over cannelloni under there somewhere. I appreciated the spinach. Sauce was decent, but not a lot of flavor overall to the entree. If an Italian restaurant doesn’t have a great red sauce, I don’t go back. Overall, I expect more creativity and contrast at this pricepoint. My wife’s pasta was overcooked and its sauce much too buttery. The chicken was good, but must it be fried? People are trying to watch their diets these days. I hope Touch of Italy can get some exposure to a more healthy and creative version of their cuisine. I don’t consider the food authentic Italian, but a typical Louisiana-ized version of it. For example, It would be nice to have a pasta dish with or without seafood.
