The absolute best barbeque in Slidell!! Everything is delicious! Rib’s, brisket, pull pork, bar b q chicken, best I’ve ever had and I’ve had it in Texas, Memphis you name it, Papa’s is fantastic!! Get down to Old Spanish Trail and Slidell Ave and try it, you will be so glad you did!!
I was fortunate enough to try their BBQ pulled pork sandwich at the July 4th fun fest in 2015. It was amazing! I finally was able to go to the restaurant. I tried the beef brisket. That was the most excellent BBQ beef brisket I have ever had in my entire life! And I have had many variations on BBQ brisket at several other places. It was seared on the outside and so deliciously tender on the inside.. just fell apart and melted in my mouth.. so heavenly tasting. What more can I say? These people sure know how to cook BBQ!!!!! And the ribs.. lots of tender delicious juiciness.. cooked just perfectly. The cole slaw and potato salad were so perfectly made as well. Just right!!! You have 3 choices of sauces: mild, spicy & honey sweet. I personally love the honey sweet. It was the best I have ever tasted.
Excellent! This small local joint serves some of THE best bbq that I have ever had. I’m not kidding. What a find! We stopped here on the way out of New Orleans back to the ATL and were shocked at the quality and taste of the food. It was run by 2 extremely nice folks who made us feel right at home.I had the ribs and chicken with red beans and rice and potato salad and my wife had the ribs and brisket with collards and mac and cheese. My son had a pulled pork sandwich which he loved. We all tasted a bit of everything it it was all absolutely delicious! The ribs were super tender andhad a perfect bark and just the right amount of smokiness. The chicken was great and the brisket just melted in your mouth. Each and every side were just so consistently good! The sauces were great and my wife loved the pecan pie.This place is up there with my absolute favorite Daddy D’z here in Atlanta. It’s worth the trip if you are ever anywhere close to the area.
Visiting from Alabama. My husband and I were visiting from Alabama and wanted to try some good southern BBQ. We had the rib plate with greens and sweet potatoes The food was delicious! Going back tomorrow.
