I recently had dinner here with a dear old friend who was in Slidell on business over night. The ambiance of the Cote was nice and comfortable. Our visit was on a Thursday evening which is their steak night, my friend went with the filet mignon and I had the crab three ways. My dinner was a rather pleasant plate of a crab and corn maque choux, home made crab cake and three shrimp stuffed with crab meat. The last two items were served atop a bed of fresh spinach with a nice dressing drizzled over it all. My friend said his steak was excellent and my meal was not too shabby either. The cool thing about the place is that the bar, or the Maple Room is attached to the restaurant but not inside of it, it’s almost like they are two different establishments. After my friend and I wandered through the doorway and into the Maple room and took a seat in two comfortable chairs right by the front window for some drinks. The bar is very comfortable, lots of lounge chairs and couches to sit, a good beer selection, and the bartender that evening had a great attitude. It was a great place to sit have some drinks with an old friend and catch up for a few hours. All in all a great experience.
