They are alright, for the price of the food it’s about right. Which is why I always go at lunch time. That being said, I only eat the pork and rice, beef and broccoli, Chinese donuts, and that’s where it stops. A lot of their meat is dry and overcooked. I am sad that since I moved to this state I haven’t found any exceptional Asian food.
Me and my sister went to the Hong Kong in sulphur la. At 7:30 pm my sister loves their ribs but when she went to get some there wasn’t any so my sister said I’ll wait for y’all to bring more and the guy said ( no more) my sister said I know I’ll wait until you bring more out and again he said no more . My sister told me what happened so I got the waitress and she went to find out what was going on and said said he was not fixing anyone and said they stop cooking at 8:30 because they close at 9:00 so I told her but it’s 8 and so if your not going to let me eat what on the buffet then you shouldn’t sell it and I asked her if some one came in right now would you sell them something on the menu and she said of course and I said but no ribs right and her mouth dropped and didn’t know what to say. At 8:15 I went to go get a ice cream cone and the machine was broke down and they were cleaning it and other guest was talking about all this also. So it looks like Hong Kong of sulphur la. Should sell out are close down because it sure isn’t about the people . It’s all about them self. SAD
It used to be a great chinese restaurant.. The food is gradually getting worse and don’t even think about bringing an issue to management. They don’t seem to care. Most often we would dine there late Friday or Saturday evening. The only good dessert is the ice cream and they have started taking the machine down before 8 pm now. When we asked the manager why, he said we would just have to get there earlier. I think we will find other places to dine where they are concerned about keeping their customers happy and treating them the same whether they get there early or late.
It’s decent. At least much better than the one in Lake Charles… The HK in Lake Charles is among the worst food (of any kind) in the city. The HK in Sulphur is actually edible, and cheap too. Only problem is that sometimes you have to deal with incredibly rude/angry waiters, however, some of the other waiters are always nice. There’s also this one white guy host/cashier who is possibly the rudest person I’ve ever met. If you can get past these things, the Sulphur HK is good for an off-hour 3pm lunch/dinner while the restaurant is kind of empty. Good for avoiding all the loud locals with their kids around this time.
The food is always delicious and the buffet is a great price.
