Delicious and definitely worth the drive from Houma.
Cajun hospitality. I stopped in today and had onion rings and a hamburger. very very good. The onion rings had an unusual batter of corn flour that was well seasoned and crispy and yummy. The fresh beef hamburger was flavorful and the buns were buttered and cooked on the flat top giving a slight fried flavor that was wonderful. I’ve found over the years that you can tell a lot about a restaraunt by the hamburgers they serve. If what I had today is any indication of the attention to detail they give to the rest of their menu, I don’t see how you could possibly go wrong stopping in at Schmoopy’s restaraunt on the bayou.11 Jan, 2010Want some great Cajun food? To tell you the truth this is the best resturaunt I have ever been to. It has gumbos, steaks, and if you are lucky you can get boiled seafood on Friday nights. I garentee that you will like. They owner of the place always puts on a show he is so funny, and his wife is so sweet. So I guess it is true that all bayou people can cook and are the sweetest people you will ever meet.
