I have a feeling that some of the reviews on here are from family members of staff or ownership. The service was abysmally slow. Everyone was pleasant, but by the time we received our order the food was room temperature. Since we had been waiting so long and were so hungry, we did not return it.

Our wedding experience. When we met with Envies management 1 year ago (Mid 2013), we were told that the correct calculation of the number of guests to figure on paying for was 25% of the expected number of guests that would attend (245). The final number was agreed upon by Envie and ourselves. We then discussed the food choices for the package that we wanted then wrote out a deposit check to lock in the deal. Two weeks before the wedding (May 2014), we set up a follow up meeting with Envies management to make sure all that was agreed upon is still good. Low and behold, the rules had changed for calculating the guest headcount to 25% of the total of invitations (262), not attendees as before, and wanted us to take less food choices for the same dollar amount per head. This would shoot our cost out the roof. After long discussions with Envie and ourselves they agreed pretty close to the initial deal that was made before and promised some specific food items to be served. At the end of the wedding reception my wife went and found the hostess in charge to ask her for a total head count and said the number that we paid for (245). Great, we thought! We received a phone call the next day that the head count was more than the hostess told us, which was ironic, that it was the exact number Envie was trying to make us pay for on the follow up meeting (262). After talking to some of the guests, the specific food items that were promised did not get served and shut down serving earlier than expected. They claimed that all food items we consumed but went back the next morning to pick up decorations with other items and Envie presented us with 5 large food trays to bring home. We have never had to work with an establishment unorganized as this one and so costly. The only recommendation I can give if anyone decides to use Envie for their reception is to have a couple extra thousand dollars at hand to absorb additional hidden costs. GOOD LUCK!

Horrible! I can’t believe the person that owns this restaurant is ok with the food here? Someone needs to teach the chef how to cook! We ordered the jambalaya pasta, it was room temperature, had no flavor, was basically a soup! I had everyone at the table try it and they all said it was disgusting. I had sauted spinach as a side, it was cold and overly salted. Out of all the pastas there is to choose from on the menu, they all have cream based sauces. No variety! My mom had the special which was a pasta with a red meat sauce. It was overly salty too. There’s salt on the tables, why do chefs over salt things? Never again

Horrible!. This place has the worst service ever! I will never go back. We waited a good 10 minutes before a server even got to the table. They were not busy at all and had 4 servers on the floor. We never recieved any refills, even though we asked and our food took 45 minutes to come out!

Breakfast reasonably priced, but…. When we arrive in town, we took, a dear friend to breakfast so we could speak with him and catch up on news. When we arrived there were 5 other tables with 7 other people in the restaurant. All patrons were already served, needing on refills on water and coffee. Despite this low amount of work to be done, it still took the wait staff over 10 minutes to bring us a breakfast menu. When we both said, we wanted water (which is problematic in Thibodaux since everyone drinks bottled water) it took about another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, we were ready to order and had to flag down a waitress to order. We both ordered straight from the breakfast menu with no special items or special instructions, other than the steaks were to be medium. More than 30 minutes later we received our meal after we ordered it. My friend and I had much to talk about but we were hungry also. Though the wait staff was friendly, it was very slow. The food arrived tepid and not hot, the steaks were room temperature. We did not complain, I paid our bill and departed. We are looking for another breakfast restaurant in Thibodaux, just as we are looking for another dinner restaurant in Thibodaux.05 Jun, 2010Poor service, greasy food. For a family reunion meal we ate at Envie for a Friday night 7:40 pm. Nine people in our party and only 4 other patrons were leaving when we arrived. We were the only table receiving service. We received our drinks at 8:30 pm, our appetizers at 8:48 pm. There were 4 waitresses we saw and our waitress was inattentive and very slow. No refills on drinks for 15 minutes after glasses were empty, did not take away the salad and appetizer plates so we put them ourselves on a nearby table to make room for the entrees. We ordered the special, frog legs, seafood platters, etc. and received our food slowly beginning at 9:20 pm! The food was greasy, as if it was allowed to sit in the frying oil too long or the frying oil was old. The angel hair pasta was properly cooked but not seasoned. We took some items home and noted after sitting and draining for awhile at our table still filled paper towels with oil at home! This was my first time to dinner at Envie and it was probably my last. Service was poor and food was mediocre to poor. Almost any decent cook at any home in south Louisiana can cook better (and much faster!)

Good breakfast, friendly service. I’m reading the reviews and wondering if these people ate at the same restaurant we did. Last time I went back home, we stayed at the HoJo and had breakfast there. The crawfish omelette was killer good, as was all the food. Our service was a little slow for two reasons: 1) The place was packed. 2) This is the South, and it’s rude to rush people through breakfast. Our server was very sweet, and it was wonderful hearing the Cajun accents again. Don’t let them scare you off–give Envie a try, especially for breakfast.
