Great place for breakfast! Rhonda the waitress is awesome!!!. Usually, this restaurant is packed. We have six in our group. Wish they had more seating. We like to eat breakfast here. My husband and I will eat breakfast here on Friday mornings, occasionally. Rhonda is our favorite waitress, she is very professional and very nice. We like all the items on the breakfast menu, the biscuits are baked fresh every morning. The pain perdu is great. The coffee is fresh. The breakfast menu is very basic and simple, but good. It is a local business that has been here a VERY LONG time and the staff does their best to cook food right and serve it well. I have asked for poached eggs and have received PERFECT poached eggs! I’m on the paleo diet and I can honestly say, the eggs, ham, bacon and sausage are delicious. If you have VERY HIGH STANDARDS for simple American breakfast dishes, then stay home and make it yourself. As for the rest of us who like to treat ourselves to a break for breakfast, we go to Spahrs.

Hey if you want to dine on overpriced mediocre food in the presence of your grandparents, I have found the place for you. It’s called Spahr’s, and it’s not very good. Try their nothing special breakfast where the average age of the dining room is about 80. Very disappointed with this place as I expected more.

First of all, we came in to Louisiana to visit friends and family from Austin, Texas. We were looking forward to having some good Cajun food. When I come to Louisiana I look for a good gumbo. The menu described the gumbo as having crab, shrimp, and sausage. When I received the gumbo it has that small shrimp about the size of my thumbnail, the crab wasnt there and ther sausage was minced. It was like gumbo that es put in a blender. It was overpriced and it was served warm and not hot. I could go on and on about the negatives. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. I am amazed they are still in business. Way over priced!!!

Keep getting disappointed. So when people come to town they want to come here, (I guess they do a lot of advertising) and until now, I’ve said ok, might as well. But I keep getting disappointed. First off, they are so expensive. And their courses don’t come with sides. I could see paying $17 for a pasta dish if I got a salad too. Or if the oyster platter came with anything. But if you want anything else, it is extra, so you’re not getting out of there for less than $20 a person. And it really just isn’t worth it. If you want a po-boy, go to Blake’s Deli. If you want fried shrimp platter, go to Politz’s you will get all sorts of sides and for less than $10, and it will taste better, and you can afford a tea too. Every time we have left this restaurant it is with a feeling of being gypped. The food was ultimately lacking deliciousness and creativity, the servers are forgettable, and your wallet is way too much lighter. There are many better places to eat. Just forget about this one. They need to spend more money on their menu and less on advertising.
