Best brisket!!! And don’t skip the beans.. It’s hard to find good BBQ in the Baton Rouge area, but tonight we finally did when we got take out from Firehouse BBQ in Watson. HOLY SMOKES!!! I was born in New Orleans, but lived in Tennessee & North Carolina for about 7 years, and I became hooked on pulled pork there, but always missed the brisket of Texas/Louisiana. So, tonight, we ordered a pound each of the brisket & the pulled pork.The pulled pork was really good, not fatty, and only enhanced by the BBQ sauce, which is just the right combination of sweet and spicy. And the brisket…OMG! It literally might be the best brisket I’ve ever had. So tender, each slice nearly fell apart. The meat pulled away from the fat layer perfectly, and the smoke flavor was intense and delicious.We only got one side, and that was the beans. I’m not usually a big fan of beans, eating them mostly out of tradition and obligation. You know how that goes as a Southerner. Anyway, these beans have changed my outlook on beans. Think beans, whole and broken, along with chunks of pork swimming in a sweet and savory soup of BBQ goodness. Seriously. Incredible!Are they a little pricey? Yeah, but where’s their competition? You pay for what you get here, and it’s worth it.Oh, and by the way, they are now open on Saturday until 8pm.
Overpriced. Small portions. Disappointing. Boring, pre-made sides.
We has the ribs and brisket for takeout… Have to say the ribs were awesome! Well worth the drive from central!

Great Food! Great People! Absolutely THE BEST BBQ in the Baton Rouge area. It’s not exactly around the corner (unless you live in Watson) but well worth the drive from BR.
Really good BBQ. Food was great! Brisket was perfectly cooked and the potatoe salad and cole slaw was wonderful. I did think they were overpriced though. $11.99 for one meat (brisket)and two sides with a cold stale roll. No pickles or onions either. Guess I’m just spoiled by Texas BBQ places.
