Great Place. I’ve always been a huge fan of Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse Seafood and Sushi Bar, the food the past times I ate there was always great and the chef’s always put on a great show while cooking at the hibachi grill…I took my family there tonight for my son’s birthday and everyone ordered, the chef was a young gentleman, not the Asian Chef’s that usually cook when we go in. He was very courteous, was great with the customers but the one thing that he didn’t do was do a great job cooking. Everything we ate except the meat was under-cooked. The Rice which is usually great, didn’t taste like it normally did. The flavor was off, it didn’t have enough soy sauce and/or Teriyaki sauce in it, the onions that were in it weren’t caramalized. They still had a crunch to them. I’ve never even tasted the onions in the fried rice in the past but tonight we had to ask for sauces to add after it was on our plates just so we could get the flavor somewhat normal. The vegetables were too crunchy. I mean this is my favorite of everything at the grill, but things were too under-cooked. The broccoli was really under-cooked. Too much crunch. The onions were very under-cooked also. Although the mushrooms were overcooked. My cabbage was ok, not the best I’ve had from here but was better than the fried rice and the vegetables. The meats were good, my steak was very tender but didn’t have much seasoning at all. Just bland. Shrimp was good, however the chicken was the best. Fantastic job on the chicken. It was so flavorful. The sauce on the chicken needed to be in the fried rice. The beginning of the meal soup/broth was still great as always and the salad with ginger dressing was fantastic.I just wanted to write this hoping that the grill management reads these to let them know that someone needs to pay attention to the food that some of the newer chef’s put out. It’s just not up to par. I love this place and don’t mind paying the price that we paid for our plates tonight if the food is excellent but didn’t like paying over $200.00 for 5 meals when we got just sub-par food.
Good food. The food at Tokyo is consistently good. Their sushi is a little lacking, but I do not usually go there for that, so I enjoy my meal quite a bit. I wish they kept the restaurant cleaner and did something to update the look, but as a whole, it’s a decent dining experience.

Definitely not a fan…. My friends and I went to Tokyo after hearing good things about the sushi there. Obviously, the people who told us to go there were completely inexperienced with what good sushi should taste like. The rolls we got were some of the worst I’ve ever eaten. Bland doesn’t even begin to describe it. On top of that, the carpet and tables were beyond dirty.
Nice and Simple. Lived here for 5 months now and tried all the sushi place. This is the best by far. the restuarant is simple and family friendly. Sushi is simple and comes out decent time. Compare to others this is great.. Others takes too long because they focus on too much decoration. Hibachi is good. Nice to see they do not discriminated. We had a american young man cooked for us and he was nice.
Chef Fell short. I am a frequent visitor of Ronin….and it’s no secret that I love my sushi! After listening to all the praise about Tokyo I finally gave in and decided to go to that side of the river! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was decent..I prefer Ronin…But anyway, after waiting forever on our chef, it was definately not worth the time nor money. I’m assuming the chef was new…because he had no neat tricks, lacked personality, and his cooking skills were just terrible. Had we had a different chef I am sure the experience would have been better. Walked out with a $75 bill….and that was just a waste.
Nasty. Everything tastes the same, and you leave smelling like fried rice! uck
