Best of the best. Roys has the best burgers I have ever had considering the lack of condiments put on them;i.e. lettuce, tomato. I don’t care for the extras put on burgers, it takes away from the burger meat which is made of grade A steak. Recently moved back to L/A and Roy’s was the first place I went to eat. The fries are crinkle cut with skins left on and are very tasty. Roy’s is famous for their burgers and breakfast with 2 locations in Auburn. They are very busy and successful. These people who give bad reviews must be from Portland and don’t care to give good reviews to other competing cities in the region. I love Roy’s and will continue to support and recommend them to others.
Still on the Fence. I stopped by here hoping to find a decent burger in the area. My experience with the menu is limited to my purchase, but I was quite disappointed by the value for price. My burger was quite small–though better than the local fast food restaurants. The fresh cut fries did not seem to be quite that, and I’d almost swear they were frozen. The onion rings were by far my best purchase, now those I’d recommend. Overall, I can see the appeal, it’s a local business that’s friendly, efficient, and not entirely too much out of pocket. My beef, however, is that I spent quite a bit to leave hungry.
Do not like the food at the Roy’s golf place. I have not eaten enough at Roy’s AllSteak Hamburg place, but the Roy’s mini golf food on Rte 4 is very poor. The fries are cooked in something (olive oil?) that just messes one’s stomach right up. And the lack of other alternative sides (of course if fried in the same thing as the olive oil, then most likely will be ruined as well) is disappointing, as well as the over pricing of the food (the cole slaw is good, but $1.25 for a little cup worth?!). The cheeseburgers are enough to stop your heart they are so greasy. The ice cream at least is decent. I’ll stick to Tabers.
Man. Burgers here are top flight. used to love during my sports days taking the trip to the shit hole that is lewiston, maine just because i knew iwas getting some roys after. great spot!
Great Breakfast!. This is the best place to get breakfast in the twin cities. Everything is made fresh to order and the coffee is great. The kitchen is open and very clean. Portion size is well worth the money you spend. The only downside to this restaurant is it does not take credit cards. They do have an ATM machine but it costs $2 per transaction
