Never again. My wife and I tried Number 1 two previous times with mixed results. This third time will be the last time. I ordered General Tso’s chicken and received dime sized pieces of extremely tough, heavily battered matter, that I can’t verify was chicken. My wife ordered a vegetable dish Ma Po To Fu (their spelling) which unfortunately didn’t have any vegetables in it. It was a quart of raw tofu in a black liquid that looked and smelled like used 90 weight gear oil. We ended up throwing both dishes out. Will never go back.
Great place to get takeout.. Best chinese food in town. Great customer service and friendly atmosphere. Good for the whole family!Delicious egg rolls. Mmmm my favorite!
Bangor’s Best-Kept Chinese Secret. Good old-fashioned Chinese food, without so much of the sugar that other Chinese restaurants seem to add.
My Favorite Chinese Restaurant in Bangor!. Dont let the look of the building scare you off, the food here tastes great, and you get a good amount. I usually order the general tso, beef and broccoli or the chicken and cashews. Their craqb rangoons and soups are good as well. I would reccomend this place if your looking for good chineese in the Bangor area.
Number 1 is one Bangor’s best kept secrets.. Yes the Beef and Broccoli is excellant and so is the beef and mushroom. We get one of each and combine them. Doesn’t make it into the ‘fridge. Szechuan Style Shrimp is also very good. Lots of large shrimp cooked perfectly. No leftovers here either.
Yummmm!. What u say may be true but small business’ rely on feedback a lot and unless u were absolutely horrified by your experience try not to be so harsh! I happen to love #1 …Beef and Broccoli is the BEST and do not forget the Crab Rangoons, YUMMMM!!!
We ordered take out tonight, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Orange Beef, House fried rice, an order of chicken fingers and one eggroll. The Sweet and sour sauce looks like French Dressing, with NO pineapple, cherries and green peppers or side of steamed broccoli. It was watery and had no flavor except the aftertaste. The orange beef had bits of orange in it but didn’t taste like orange, or beef either for that matter. The house fried rice had bits of pork, a couple of mealy , fishy shrimp and some huge chunks of chicken, not a single veggie or anything else. The eggroll was worse. And when I opened the chicken fingers the one on top had a bite taken out of it. Not broken, you could see the teeth marks on the chicken. Worst chinese food we have ever had. There was a little kid taking orders and he was hopping around in the kitchen, he must have been hungry.
