  Had to see what all the fuss was about !!!. Had some buddys recommend this place . I am very Happy did the take out they delivered all the way to Old Orchard Beach WOW !!! Veggie fry rice was incredible ,,,,the gen tso chicken was with nice breast meat (usually restaurants use thigh ) ,,,chicken fingers were juicy and not full of grease . The crab rangoon rocked as well !!! I will be coming here again !

  Another disappointment …. I keep trying Happy Garden because they used to be really good. Not anymore. My last try was a basic fresh tofu szechuan style (with meat) in brown sauce. I ordered it extra spicy. What I got was a sweet, thick, cloying non spiced gelatinous goo of a sauce with fresh tofu and pork. The tofu and pork were fine, but the sauce was disgusting. I tossed the dish in trash. I can’t be Moe dissapointed with this restaurant. The only thing they do well are chicken wings and teriyaki beef. As to the rest, good luck.03 Nov, 2013Not what it used to be….. I’ve tried the new owner’s version of my old favorites, which includes dishes in each of the major sauces: Szechuan, Garlic, Brown sauce, Hunan sauce and the newly added Black Bean Sauce. Unfortunately, only the (beef with) Black Bean sauce was tasty enough to recommend. The Hunan was too thick and sweet, the Szechuan and Garlic sauces too bland while the basic Brown sauce was just too sweet. I ordered Beef and Snow Pea Pods extra spicy, and while the meat and veggies were cooked perfectly, it tasted like a packet of sugar was dumped into it, completely ruining the balance of flavors. I’ve also tried the plain Egg Foo Young. The egg pancakes were terribly bland while the sauce was thick and without much flavor.

  First time customer. I had ordered a home delivery (2) lunch combos and chicken apitisersOne was peppers track and chicken, egg rolls and crab ragoons.Low in behold I find out that is burn onto and mixed in the food and pork pricesW/barbecue on it. The taste of the food wasn’t good but burnt. I was disappointed with quality. The preparation was a negative .At. 2pm. I called and talked to Jessica andTold her and she put me on hold (owner) to head cook and had explained to her myComplaint.James was the kitchen cook and he said he was going to check out to SSEIf any other customers ( names not known nor devulged) to validate my complaint.If it was similar. (Owner?James) was gruff and defensive.Said that the end, I said itsNot the end. He was rude and needed better manners to new customers. No refund .Their was no negoation made which is unacceptable. All his advertisement will be removed from every public housing complexes abroad from so. Portland sect.

  Take out food. I ordered take out food for me and my boyfriend and when we got the food we thought it was going to be really good but it was very disappointing. It didn’t taste good at all, it was a waste of my money and I’ll never order from there again.

  Great food and service. I love this little local Chinese restaurant. I eat there quite often. The food has been always good but one time. They are very fast and efficient. I don’t like having to wait long and here you don’t have to. I also order delivery quite often and compared to other local businesses, they are hands down the quickest. The service is exceptional. Sometimes I even get a call a few days later making sure everything was good from the manager/owner. Very impressive! Keep up the good work! The only negative thing I can say is they have to supply more duck sauce with the meal. You only get 1 small cup and if you want more you have to pay extra.
