Best cheese Selection!. This place has been my go to venue for putting together exceptional cheese plate. It may be a little pricey but it is certainly worth it. In the cheese world you do ‘get what you pay for….’ While you are there PLAN on having their awesome famous cuban sandwich! Fromage fanatics Vincent Maniaci and Jill Dutton opened this European-style gourmet shop in a barn-style building on route 1 in Scarborough. The Cheese Iron is great one-stop shop for picnics and any get together. Good wine selection and they even have a cheese cave.
You get what you pay for. While at first glance one might think The Cheese Iron is expensive, but once you’ve tasted their quality selections, you’ll be happy to pay a little more for a substantially better product — from their olives, cheeses and meats to their prepared sandwiches and pasta dishes, you can be assured that ingredients and prep are premium quality. I have never been disappointed in anything I’ve purchased and when something tastes THIS good, a few extra pennies won’t matter a bit! Try their breads, pastries, select chocolates and seasonal items, too.
I wish that instead of a like it button there were a love it button! Vince and his wife do an amazing job finding delicious fine cheese and salumi.
