Exceptional service. This was our second time in and even though we had a good time the first time this time was special. Our server was so charming. He made a joke that me and my daughter are still talking about. He made us feel special. Food was great too. Our server made our girls day out perfect. We will be back. So glad you are here. Great job.
Words fail me in Scarborough, Maine. Don’t bother with The Egg and I, if you wish good service and decent food. It was so very disappointing. We had to flag a waitress down to take our order, find silverware ourselves after our food came, ask for water. Had the food been ok??? but it wasn’t……
We tried breakfast there twice and were very disappointed. Coffee was so weak we had to talk to the manager about it. Breakfast was only ok, but very pricey for what we got. Nice facility, but that’s about it.

First off, don’t listen to Harley jones. The egg and I has a terrific atmosphere, and it is not just for the old folks. I’m in my early 20s and come here often for breakfast or brunch with friends. The service is outstanding, the food is amazing! I hardly know what to choose because I love everything on the menu. If you haven’t yet tried the hikers Benedict then you’re in for a treat! The staff are friendly and fast, always making sure you have what you need. The owner of the restaurant is usually always around popping over to tables making sure everyone is satisfied with the service and their food. All in all the egg and I is a fantastic place to eat and chill out, or just enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the morning!
2012 Maine trip. What a wonderful, delicious place to have a relaxing breakfast on the weekend. My husband and I ate here 2 times over our 4 day stay in Portland. The service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and leads to an enjoyable eating atmosphere. We tried several items from the menu and everything was delicious and very filling. You should not leave here hungry with the portions you are served. This is one of the best restaurants my husband and I have ever eaten in for breakfast and we will definitely be dining there many times on future trips. Thank you to the owners for bringing this wonderful dining choice to Scarborough, Maine. Can you send one to Cleveland Ohio?
