Great pub food, great drinks, nice feel. This place has high quality Irish food, with a very good mix of beers on tap. Not your typical US bar, it feels as close to an Irish pub, especially the bar (non-dining area) part, as your going to get in Maine. They don’t even have a TV! Nice place, always have a good meal and a good time.

Don’t waste your time or money here- Ellsworth Resident. Trust me- this place will waste your time and your money. I live here in Ellsworth. This place is a waste of time. Went here twice with money in my pocket to spend. I planned on dropping 75-$100 on food and drinks with my girlfriend and was ignored. There are plenty of other great places in Ellsworth to eat. Try Mainly Meat, Shinbashi, Cleonice and many more choices in /bar Harbor and Bangor. Stay away from Finn’s.26 Feb, 2013Don’t waste your time. I recently moved to the area. I attempted on two occasions to dine here. Both times we were ignored, never seated and no one came to take our order. I will never go there again. This is perhaps the rudest and most disorganized restaurant I have experienced.

Pretty good for Ellsworth! Good portion sizes. Fair prices and good service and atmosphere. Nice menu with unique offerings.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Finns. Both the service and food were upsetting. It took a long time for us to be seated and once we were seated we were met with nothing but attitude and poor service (she even rolled her eyes when asked for a water). We ordered the mozzarella wheels, nachos, and haddock poppers. The food was way overpriced for the quantity and quality. The mozzarella wheels (only 3 small ones for $6.50) were greasy and served with what tasted like salsa which was supposed to be marinara. The jalapeo tarter sauce had an off-taste reminiscent of cleaning chemicals. When we told the server we were disappointed with the food she was very argumentative and spoke down to us, like we were undeserving of her time. I was very disappointed and will not return.

Hmmm… I am astonished at the negative reviews of this place. Obviously I am from out of town, though much of my family is from this area. I had a blast in this place and the food was just wonderful. The bartender, Lindsey, was excellent. The beer, perfect. I even met a woman at the bar whose father was one of the men who pulled in the original dining car which is the central part of this pub. A top notch dining and social experience. I had the meatloaf sandwich and the wife had the pub burger. Both were excellent. I don’t miss the french fries. I find the home-made pub chips a welcome change and deliciously satisfying. I hope you all enjoy this placeas much as I did.

Giving Up. Went for lunch with my sister, and while the food was good, the bartender was not. You would think, being the only 2 customers in the place, we would have gotten more attention. I asked for a to go box, and when it was time to leave, after the check was paid, my box of food was behind the bar, on the back counter, and our industrious bartender was GONE. That was in December. On several occasions after that, my fiance and I have tried to get into Finn’s for dinner on Friday’s to no avail. We have been told 3-4 times that it would be a 20 minute wait. Looking around and seeing 5 or so open tables pissed me off. We did finally get in on a Thursday, but had to eat at 4:30, so as to get a table. THAT Bartender is good…very good, and attentive. The food however was HORRID. We ordered mussels for an appetizer, which were supposed to be a bit spicy, which were not in any shape spice, but drowning in boiled minced onion. The fish and chip…wish they had traditional fish and chips…wasnt bad, but the batter ontop of my fish was slightly gummy, and the bottom was burnt and greasy. I just picked the fish out of the middle which was bland. The menu to me is not very Irish…check out the menu at Meg O’Malleys, in Melbourne, Florida…now THAT is an Irish Pub!
