Our food was awesome and they had very friendly service. They even had instructions on how to eat the whole lobster for us novices. They are a perfect late night dinner after the the lumberjack show because they are open until 9.
I ate at the restaurant on August 28th after a full day at Acadia National Park. We started with the lobster, clams, mussels and red potatoes. It is located on the back of the menu if you would like to order it. I highly recommend this if you enjoy steamed seafood. Then I ordered the fishermen’s platter. It seemed that it took a long time for the meal to be served. When it did arrive the portions were small. Two and one half fried clams, three small shrimp, a large portion of haddock that was quite thin and three scallops. I mentioned that I was disappointed with the portion size and the waiter did take off ten dollars off the bill but I had hoped to have enough left over for lunch the next day. I am not sure if the restaurant ran out of food but for thirty dollars you would hope to have a descent portion of food.On the other hand the clam chowder was very good that came with the lobster meal and the one piece of blueberry pie between two of us was also very good.
Really good food. I had amazing scallops with garlic red potatoes, and my favorite kind of cole slaw with pineapple and raisens. My husband had the ribs…smoky and amazing. Prices seem a little high at first, but the servings are very generous. Both seafood and barbecue were excellent!
The clam chowder is soooooooo gooooood! Very very creamy and buttery, goes right to your arteries! At first I thought the pulled pork was too smoky but as I ate it , I really enjoyed it. The sauce for the pulled pork was also very good. The cold slaw had a good kick and the potato salad was good. This place is a true joint and I think it’s great!
The fried scallops are some of the best we’ve ever had. The French fries are very good, but they put mustard in their cole slaw.
