Great margaritas and authentic meat dishes! My only wish is for the tortillas to be homemade.
I really wanted to like this restaurant; the staff were charming and the setting was warm and casual. Unfortunately for the price the Yucatan/Mexican cuisine was not quite what I would expect. Dinner begins with two tasty salsas served with white bread; we weren’t sure why this was the combo instead of traditional chips. I was surprised by the absence of fish from the menu, a common item in yucatan cuisine and quite abundant locally. We ordered the chile relleno which was unique; the chile was a dried poblano served with a cream sauce. The overall effect was somewhat bland and was served without black beans, a side served with other entrees. The short ribs were rich but again, the adobo sauce was lackluster. I would encourage the chef to leverage local seafood sources to take advantage of yucatan and Maine cuisines.
