Gluten Free; need I say more.. We visited with a larger group in August, 2014. Everyone was looking for seafood, but the requests ranged from lobster, to steamers, to fried clams, to clam chowder. As we drove by 3buoys, their sign listed everything we were looking for and it offered gluten free, which was a must. Everything on their menu was available as gluten free, which is rare to say the least. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My boys keep asking to go back! We loved it!
BEWARE – New Ownership. I used to come here regularly but won’t be back. Apparently, a new owner just took over a couple of weeks ago and he’s changed a LOT of things and none for the better from what I can tell. The fried clams here used to be fantastic and now? As bad or worse than Bob’s down the street. The onion rings were thin sliced and lightly breaded and cooked a light golden color. Now? Big, thick breading, onion rings along with onion chunks all in a heavy, thick and dark batter. Everything fried was heavy breaded and dark. Not good. In early August I was here and sat next to a couple from Michigan that has a house in Kennebunk or Kennebunkport that drives the 1/2 hour to go to York’s Best Seafood because the haddock & clams are so good. I wonder what they’ll think? When I tried to talk to the new owner about the differences I saw, tasted and didn’t like, he told me to find someplace else to eat if I don’t like it.I wish the old owners the best, they were nice and friendly (the guy was a comedian and his wife always smilling) and maybe the new guy is just trying to figure out what to do but being rude to customers isn’t going to help him.I won’t go back.
