Best fried clams in Maine!!!!!. We decided to check out Captains Fresh Idea about 3 years ago. Sooooo glad we did. We love fried clams and THIS is the place to go for them. Best in the state in my opinion and we’ve had clams all over Maine. Quality of the food is consistently great and the fried clams & scallops are superb. (Owners, Gary chef, & Becky, hostess/server) are always very pleasant and welcoming. We always take friends and family there and they too enjoy the food and simplicity.
1st lobster roll and it rocked!. Had the naked lobster roll dipped in butter and it was awesome! Tons of lobster. Fiance had the traditional lobster roll, her first lobster ever, and she loved it. Dessert of blueberry crumble is well worth the 5,0000 calories! Staff was very friendly and provided some great travel tips for the rest of our day. Great little place.
Great restaurant!! Ordered lobster quesadilla, shrimp salad, and buffalo shrimp. All were good, but the best item was the blueberry crumble dessert!!! Don’t leave without tasting it or you’ll be missing something terrific!!
Wicked good food. Family run business by very pleasant folks. We like the regular lobster rolls and quite often take home the meat from a large lobster roll and make about 4-5 sandwiches from it. Steamers and the Lobster & corn are bargains. Their Blues burger is excellent and for dessert, try the blueberry crumbcake with blueberry sauce, ice cream and whipped cream…tasty, It is large enough to share too. They also make their own whoopie pies! DO Google & visit the Maine Antique Toy & Art Museum across the street. Their tickets will get you a small discount off your bill in this restaurant. See the museum and then have lunch.
Excellent food! Excellent service! The restaurant is family owned and operated, they were very warm and welcoming. Very relaxed atmosphere, by the end of the meal it felt like we were just over a friend’s house for a fresh caught smorgasbord. Definetly worth a stop or even a major detour!
As their tshirts say, wicked good seafood!! Had a great meal and the service was impressive.
